Event Description

Womyn Spirit is an annual Festival which focuses primarily on Feminist Wicca and Neopaganism as a process of reclaimation and recreation of European Pagan spirituality. However, it acknowledges, respects and welcomes all women’s spirituality.

As such, women of all ages, experiences and cultures are invited to join together in celebration of women’s culture through a weekend of sharing ideas, magic, songs, firelight, stories, dances, wisdom, healing, laughter, creativity, tears, rituals and love.

Because it’s run entirely by volunteers, the Festival features workshops facilitated by attendees. In the past we’ve had sessions on sacred dance, tree lore, yoga, Goddess imagery, tarot, drumming, chanting, meditation, political action, finding your voice, herstory of women’s spirituality and much more.

In addition to the wonderful workshops, a formal ritual is held each evening of the Festival. Because it is Samhain, rituals will focus on turning inward and honouring our own mysteries, reflecting on our crone aspects, and mortality. The ritual on Saturday night is when we remember our ancestors and those who have passed on recently. A beloved dead altar will be set up to hold the photographs and momentoes of Festival attendees who wish to honour their loved ones. The Sunday ritual is family-friendly, so our daughters can participate too.

Registration includes accommodation, workshops, rituals and all meals (vegetarian) from Friday supper to Sunday lunch.

Early Registration, Adult: $185.00 (full payment must be received before August 25, 2009)

Adult Registration After August 25, 2009: $220.00

Young Women, aged 12-18: $130.00

Girls aged 4-11: $80.00

Children under 4: Free

The Festival often sells out completely, so book your spot early to avoid disappointment.
