I an not really new, but I still do not have a specific path that I follow. There isn't one that I want to, or feel comfortable, following, I follow my own path, and so do a lot of people. I like Wicca, however there are some things that I just don't really follow, and so to call myself a follower of that path would be wrong. I am more of a Traditional Witch, but don't know if that describes who I am either. I have really stopped trying to define myself with a path. I am me, I follow what I think is right, and I am happy and contented, except for always wanting to learn more and grow.
I know what you mean. the friends that I have are all wiccan, so that has had some influence in me. that can't be prevented. I just want to see what the other paths are like so I can get a better understanding on what my own path would be like. I hope this is a logical way of thinking.
Merry Meet! Pay attention to Tracey! She knows what she is talking about. The only thing I could add is that the Path calls you, you DON"T call the Path. At least that is what I've experienced so far.

I agree with you. I try to follow what speaks to my heart and that is all that matters. I go by several names because to me they are all the same, such as Wiccan, Pagan, Native American for we are all connected in this web of life. I do want to give some adivse to this fellow sister. If you have a myspace account you can also check my page that is for people who seek to find their own path in life. The link is www.myspace.com/hawksbookofwisdom if you want to can also add me to your friends list. I have studied the craft for a little over ten years and if you have any questions I am more then willing to help you out. I know it can seem so over whelming trying to find your path in life. Bright Blessings Everyone
Yes, it's what is in your heart that matters most. Read, read, read and you'll come across things that you want in your life, make the most sense and the rest, well that can be left behind. There is no right or wrong there is just what you feel comfortable with, compelled to do. It's not a "path" per se but more of a spiritual journey. What's right for one person isn't going to necessarily be right for the next. What you get out of it and use is a very personal thing. It's your spiritual journey so it should be one in which you're most happiest. I'm an eclectic witch, I take from at least 3 different pantheons but it works for me :) I was raised in the faery tradition mostly by my eclectic grandmother who threw in a bunch of other stuff too so I guess that's why I'm prone to being eclectic myself. I have since dropped the fae but I still keep some of her teachings with me, especially her ability as a healer. You'll probably find that certain things will resonate with you as you've probably been doing it for awhile now and just don't realize it. You'd be surprised but that's where books can help you kind of figure that out.

Good luck on your journey and be prepared to be amazed!
I think i get what you all are trying to tell me. i thank you all for your advice. i am going to do more research now.
There is another fact that the books I can find are all of Wicca. this is not a bad thing. I do want to look at other paths and find my own path. I just lack resources.
You don't need money, or other resources. There is a wealth of knowledge here on the internet. I have some books that I have acquired, and I read them and love them, however my most valuable resource is the internet. I am in groups, a couple of yahoo groups, and then here. I love it here, this is my family, I can discuss or ask anything here, and get an answer. Yahoo groups are really great, and you can get a wealth of knowledge from them. If you want some suggestions on what I found helpful as far as groups goes, write me personally and I will give you a couple of names.
I always recommend now the book called Exploring The Pagan Path writen by several Elder and the Truth About Witchcraft writen by Scott Cunningham . I would also recommend just starting out with Pagan Exploring books or the net because Sheila is very right in this. Google Book of Shadows and you will get several links that are full of the craft info and traditions. That will help you learn what is right for you, for you are the only one who knows this answer and the Creator.
I have read the book of shadows. i will look into all of these things that you all have so kindly suggested. it is hard to find things in my local library where my school is for it is in a small town. and thank you for the book ideas.
You have access to the net and you have found this beautiful place called PaganSpace.
Everyone here will share what they know with you. And yes, your path will call you. You may start your journey in one and find yourself traversing another without realizing you have a new path.

Welcome friend. Have fun on your journey to what is right for you.
