Obama nailed McCain on alot of topics last night. But still he didn't get aggressive like i hoped for. When the people asked the questions to both parties McCain kept scrambleing out words and tried to make a sentance. It was so confusing. Even some of the people in the background kinda looked like "What the fuck you talking about McCain".

Once again the second round goes to Obama. Now with one more debate to go I hope Obama steps it up. Anybody else watched it last night? If so what did you think? Please I would like to hear you thoughts.

Well, it's simply a matter of facing reality. He's 72 years old. If he wins the office and survives his health issues, at the end of his first term he'll be 76. If he see's fit to run again, and wins as most Presidents have done when they've run for re-election and especially during wartime, he'll be 80 when he finally leaves the Oval.

If someone who works for the government faces mandatory retirement at 65, it is not ageism to question someone's fitness to lead the government at 72. Especially when that candidate has been exhibiting signs of dementia since the year 2000, and has had a rapid increase in obvious symptoms in the last few months.

Like for instance, when he voted for the recent bill that granted the 700 Billion dollar bailout and then, later that same day while speaking to a reporter who asked his opinion on the passage of the measure, stated it was another example of government out of touch, etc... And it should be vetoed!
He voted for it!

But he didn't remember that. And that provided fodder for late night comedians as well as Liberal media politicos who relished the opportunity to point out his blatant mistake. If he can not recall voting for a bill, as Senator, what's he going to do when he's President!? Keeping in mind this isn't the first time he's ran for the office, but it's the first time he's gotten this close to it. And before, he was a younger and more fit candidate.

Like last night when he referred to Obama as "that guy"? No doubt--he forgot his name!! I don't want his finger on the button, no way!

I'm by no means a McCain supporter, but let's not forget that he sustained injuries on the U.S.S. Forrestal when a Zuni rocket discharged on the flight deck causing a devastating fire. McCain took shrapnel to the upper body when a bomb, laying in burning jet fuel, exploded. Over 130 crewmen were killed...

Like I said, I don't support his ideas, but I will respect his service in the US Navy.

As a person who has served in the military, I totally respect his service. However, his time has come and gone. I don't believe that he is in any shape; mentally or physically to serve this country as our President.

I concur.
Sucks, doesn't it!?

Yup. Stocking up on canned goods and jugs of water sounds like a better idea every day.

Definitely--becoming more of a practicality each day. Better to be prepared and nothing happens than to not be prepared and find yourself without the necessities of life if we should slide into a depression. If nothing happens, you are just ahead of the game, and can eat your supplies.

Bottom line--you don't want to have to depend on the govt. to help you out when the food lines start.

Start? Sad to say the food lines have already started and been in place for some time in this country. The Mid-west, for instance. Where factories and manufacturing plants have closed down, due to the outsourcing incentive. People stand in food lines, carrying laundry baskets, hoping there's something left when they get to the front of the line. And when those companies leave town, so to do the benefits and pensions, the 401k's.

If politicians want to bail out investment companies that made a fortune screwing the American people, and are rewarded with a fortune in those same tax paying peoples bail out monies, it's not only criminal it's an insult to the working class. Yet, why doesn't anyone ever bail us out?! Companies leave us high and dry and we suffer and there's no bills proposed before the legislature that offers to save us. To pay our mortgages we can no longer afford because the company we counted on to employ us through that 30 year term, moved to Delhi, where it's cheaper to afford someone who answers the phone's in broken english, while feeling blessed they're getting paid a third of what we would have, yet is 100% more than what they'd have had before.

Politicians are rich. And the tax and spend politics they employ and support to make their living are afforded through our labor. If we didn't work, neither would big government.

WOW...very well written and unfortunately, very true. I also agree with Lady Kate and Faust; better to be prepared and not need it.
