Zoo's like many others things, some are good and some are wretched. But I think many zoo's are a positive thing and let our children more over to see close up many animals they could only see on animal planet. (great network might I add) And they help protect and breed some of the worlds rarer breeds. Sadly some animals may only survive in zoo's which is a very sad fact.
I don't consider them evil, but i do not like seeing an animal caged. It is unethical. I do understand if one is injured and can be rehabilitated, but they need to go back in the wild where they can be free.
I wouldn't even cage train my dog or put in carrier.
I always think would I want to be caged to be looked at? I don't think so.
Most of the larger zoos are accredited and have to maintain a standard of care for the animals. Those are the good ones. It is the smaller zoos that mistreat the animals usually.
The zoo in Columbus, OH has some very nice habitats for the animals that live there. The wolf habitat is awsome and the tiger habitat is nice as well. Some of their habitats I feel are too small for the animals that live there.
I believe zoos are good in that they can help preserve a species that is close to extinction. Providing the animals are well taken care of and respected.
However, I would like to see the animals at the zoo be free and not caged up.
I Dont Think They Are EVIL
But I Feel Animals Should Be Wild And Free
And Not caged
Or In A " reservation "
I Dont Go To Zoos
Havent Went to One Since Elementary

I see both good & bad. It might be better that we can go & see animals in a zoo than for a bunch of A-holes to go traipsing thru their natural habitat.
