Mike Huckabee has offered to join Sen. McCain as his running mate, for those of you who may have not followed anything this year, Huckabee Is also a Baptist Minister.

Those fellow Pagans who live in the south understand the issues with the Baptists and their belief structure and how they would love to have the Opportunity to wipe Paganism out, bring back all we stand against like mixing government and religion together.

Hope this brings awareness to all......NAMASTE!!!!!

I had wondered if McCain was going to pick him as his VP, and I told a friend of mine that his selection of Huckabee would essentially make my decision to vote on the democratic ticket a lock; considering that I had really wanted to weigh out my decision with whom I thought was the best candidate, I just can't fathom the thought of enduring another religious zealot in a high level office again.

OK, he may have offered, but has he been accepted? Before we panic on this subject(learned the hard way about crazy christianity in the south. Apostolic Pentacostals are the most frightening bunch of humans on earth) getting back on the subject. I believe we should wait until he is accepted by McCain before we weird out.
OMG!!!! This country is in sooooooooooooooo much trouble.

it all stems back to the roman catholic church, they firmly believe it is a sin to love someone of the same sex, BUT...... maybe it is because so many of the priests and higher archy of the church themselves are gay? and that is why they are so set against it? makes you think, doesn't it?

I live in South Carolina and was raised Baptist. I don't party vote so my support was tossed actually between Romney and Hillary. I refuse to vote for any ticket that includes either Huckabee or Obama so if worse comes to vote I may not even vote (or find the easiest way out of the country as fast as fucking possible). I have family that is so insane Baptist they said Romney was the best on the Republican ticket but would not vote for him because he was morman. They voted for Huckabee because he was a Baptist minister...southern politics for you. Some of them broke from the Baptist church a couple of years ago and started their own non demoninational cult....yes CULT...which is probably one of the worst cultic brain washing schemes I've ever seen in my life. Yes I'm very much in the broom closet because of my family. They're of the medieval thought that all pagans worship the devil and are evil so they'd probably burn me at the stake. So there is no way in hell I can support a Baptist minister who just wants in the White House and probably a bit of fame too on top of the fact he wants to convert the world. Oh and have you looked into Huckabee? He's a crook who gives free money away to illegals including money for financial aide for college students. More reason for me to not like the guy. And he has also made a statement that if he became President he'd want to change the constitution to fit with the Bible. The man clearly has never studied history and knows nothing about the true meaning of the constitution. No need to trash other religions here. I was raised a southern baptist but felt a calling to paganism and to my gifts as a witch. So I see exactly how scary it would be to have that man in the white house. On top of that he'd probably make us look more dumb on an international scale than Bush does. Just my opinions and views on this matter though. Blessings ~ Leia

He sort of creeps me out. The subject alone of the man sets off my senses like this is bad. I get that feeling like he's bad or something bad around him or rooting to him could happen by the mention of him on tv or radio or him speaking on tv or radio. It generally freaks me out. And I just don't trust the fact that he has no track record but 4 years in the Senate to look at in politics. I don't think he has the experience either to be President. I mean people like him because he's a good speaker and he can deliver a good speech but then again so could Hitler. I wouldn't dislike Obama so much if I just didn't get all these bad vibes about him. And last time I didn't trust my senses in that respect it bit me in the ass so this time I'm trusting them. Makes me wonder if anyone got the same feeling about other people in politics who turned out to be bad apples. Blessings ~ Leia

Like I said in the Obama blog, the man creeps me out something fierce. I feel that same energy that you are talking about Leia, it just swirls around him, imo. Maybe if I were to to meet him, the opinion would change but I am thinking not, there are secrets there that he is desperate for people not to find out. I didn't like that whole deal with his pastor either, I would have respected Obama immensely had he simply looked at the news cameras and said something to the effect of 'he's lost his damn mind' but instead he plays around and avoids the subject. Badness is likely to come of that whole situation, much badness. I got the same feeling when Bush announced he was running for president.

There was a mention about gays and religion earlier in the thread and based on my own experiences and reading some books on the subject, alot of it seems to stem from the place that gay men and women held in the pagan cultures. They served as priests/esses to the Goddess, as Oracles/Seers and as sacred prostitutes among other functions in the pagan cultures. Sacred prostitutes had nothing to do with the image we have in most of our cultures today, rather they served as the physical manifestation of the Goddess/God and were thought of as integral to the fertility of the area. When the patrifocal religions started gaining power, they abolished the worship of the Goddess and sought to neuter her making her less than the God that they worshiped. The first way they sought to do this was to destroy her temples and kill her priest/priestesses. Everything that the priesthood was about they attempted to destroy, including and especially sacred sexuality. Women became possessions and gay men became abominations. Taking a passive role in sex with another man was a sign of weakness and had to be destroyed, especially since it easily could have been a reminder of the Goddess worshippers.

Ok if three people are getting bad feelings about Obama...this is very BAD indeed. He just gives me this bad omen feeling like hell is about to explode in a very bad way.

Weird how so many of you get this 'bad' feeling about Obama...no REAL explanation either...sounds suspect to me. Obama is well-respected, highly educated and has real and concrete plans for America, not just more rhetoric and more Iraq.

If you mean by experience years playing the Washington polictics game, then please give me the non-experienced man who sees the true problems this country has and truly wants to see us move out of them, than an old geezer with delusions of Iraq victory in his mind or a woman whose on real presidential training has been being the First Lady.

Why should anyone's personal opinion sound suspect just because it differs from your own? I've spent 25+ years actively honing my intuition and am comfortable in the fact that its rarely been wrong when I have listened to it. I felt that Bush getting the office would be a disaster for the country, it was based on the same intuitive feeling and I would bet that there are a great many people in the country that would agree that it has been. Should I ignore that because you have a difference of opinion? I might not have all the details on why I feel that Obama would be a poor choice, but the details always end up getting filled in.

I don't understand your last comment, are you saying that Obama's lack of experience being President is better than Clinton's lack of experience being President? That is nonsensical.

I still run the theory of better the devil you know than the one you don't. That's why I support Hillary hell at least we know all the shit she and Bill can cause. But I've also spent time honing the intuition I have. I don't expect it to be perfect but the man gives me the creeps in a bad way. I respect your good opinion of him Serenity but I just don't feel the same. Blessings ~ Leia

Quite a few of them do which is a problem. But they're politicians how do we know what they're really doing to do.
