This is a discussion to see how many Pagans and Wiccans actually know the Theban Alphabet. I know that there is a lot of other alphabets out their used for magickal purposes, but the Theban Alphabet is the rooted alphabet from the begining. Do you know the Theban Alphabet?

Techno-paganism at its best. I wonder Orion, do you feel some of these things lose their magic when reduced to computer fonts? Do you generally use them in this manner, or do you hand-write them? That friend I mentioned, he made mention in a discussion once that the script only has power; when you put yourself into it. In otherwords, the art of hand-writing.

Look at us here: it's *ALL* about techno-paganism, isn't it?

Using the Thebian alphabet on the computer doesn't detract from its magical qualities, I believe, as magic is all about intent, isn't it? I do hear you, though, SIN!

LOL, I know; well if you get down to it Pav, this site is not Paganism in practice but could be considered a sort of academia. We discuss the topics that fall under the pagan umbrella, discuss topical news issues and offer a pagan perspective.

So by utilizing this site, is that really techno-paganism?

I am trying to teach myself the Theban Alphabet. It takes a bit of time for me but it will happen. To transcribe my BOS into Theban would be an undertaking but one that I would like to try.

As far as the Pagan/Wiccan argument goes I consider myself Pagan but do not follow Wicca at all. I would never catagorize myself as Wiccan.

I don't believe you have to be Wiccan or a Witch to have exclusive rights over it. It seems that the British Hermetics adopted it before the Wiccans and this is why it looked familiar to me. It's either that or the Enochian alphabet:

*ENOCHIAN ALPHABET*

I've seen this, seeing that it was created after 1518, it would have been after the 1518 print by Johannes. Inspired by, perhaps? Dee & Kelly claims the Enochians are angels, Agrippa calls this script 'Celestial'. I wonder why these things are attributed to 'Angels' in occult circles; religious superstition perhaps?

Ever play Enochian chess? Talk about complicated!

Possibly the influence of the mystics and how they saw the soul. This is found as early as 13th century Sufism as well as in Swedenborgism, Theosophy and later, Anthroposophy, which has quite a complex system of angels and archangels. I believe it could have something to do with the release from memtempsychosis, and from the earthly place, we evolve into 'celestial' beings. You see all of this in Eastern philosophies, much of which influenced the whole Theosphy-Blavatsky movement, didn't it?

Yes, I believe so.

And what symbolism is that, do tell; since you know so well what symbolism I use.
