Grounding and Centering
As spiritual and magical beings,we hear the terms grounding and centering quite a bit. Are they the same,close to the same or different? For me they are different,as grounding means being here now and centering is being aware of myself and what is going on with me. Opinions? also how do you Ground and center? I ground by using the Celtic tree grounding.V arms out,feet in the ground. I center,by meditating and directing the energies to my core and then out.

I don't know all that much about these things but I was taught that grounding was the way energy can be channelled back into the earth. You can do this through meditation techniques, like the one I was taught where you visualise becoming one with a tree and letting the energy pass through you into the tree then into the ground. A friend also told me that they ground by leaning against a big tree somewhere peaceful and quiet and placing your hands in the ground. Or do it at the beach in the sand.
I think that centring (sp?) is when you try to become calm and relaxed, for example before spell work.
