Unity of Beliefs 2009

This isn't exactly an article but it's the beginning of something much larger I hope.

So many people today are just sad; they would rather exert all their energy being bottom feeding, drama queens/kings rather than trying to unite together towards a positive means.

There's so many things that can change in the world for the good but it won't happen until we make it happen. Unity and friendship can be achieved through all the differing beliefs, I have watched it take place here on PaganSpace.net and I tell you I have felt so blessed just to be a part of that. It's truly something of beauty and it carries a special magic all of it's own....

I have been pondering upon working towards a Unity Event, something for everyone to be a part of, something different, and something driven by a wish for unity among the differing beliefs. If people could just see that there's much to learn from everyone, even those of differing beliefs. If people could just see past religion; they would see there are so many wonderful people in this world that they never take the opportunity to know, all because they can't get past the differences in beliefs. It's sad and I think this is what's crippled every form of religion and belief from it's inception. It's not about who's wrong and who's right; it's not even about religion as we all do not consider ourselves followers of a religion, it's about what brings us happiness and inward peace.

I would love input on this idea, to create a gathering in the Spring of 2009 driven by the desire to bring unity among the differing beliefs. An event powered by the deities of all of our beliefs...

If you have a moment please watch the video below and think how true it is; it's one of my favorite songs but it also has become a muse for me. It only takes one person to make a difference, just imagine what a whole group of people can accomplish...

UNIFICATION..
of ways paths beliefs..

UNITY..is strength..

there is only ONE..anyway..
and ONE is ALL

no matter what colour IS the path..
underneath ITS all The same Colour..

Anything I can DO to HELP..
count ME in..

I LOVE what YOU are doing..
and HERE is a wonderful testament to that!!!

Permalink Reply by jamie on December 7, 2007 at 2:59pm: i have been thinking the exact same thing for a while now. i think that people in general notice what is different not that we are all humans. i think of it like we are all ice cream and all the differences are the different flavors. we each have our favorite flavor but we are all still ice cream. wouldn't the world be boring with just one flavor? also if you break everything down to the most basic level we all want or almost all of us want the same thing. to unite or feel close to whatever higher power we believe in. what if they are all the same thing and the different path or faiths are just different directions to get there. you and i can both go to the same spot say spain. but you and i would have totally different directions to follow to get there. neither are wrong since we both wind up the same place just different.

Its amazing to me though, the more studying I do, the more I learn, its the SIMILARITY in things, religions, traditions, races, whatever, that pops out to me! The DIFFERENCES are really SO small...and of NO consequence!
I think this would be a WONDERFUL thing...and I think the time has COME for it too!

I've attended many events but I have never coordinated one such as this, which means HELP...lol. I think a group on PaganSpace is a great idea (thanks Whitewillow), I'll make one called Unity of Beliefs Project 2009.

I really want this to be different, I've attended many events and it seems like everyone always ends up getting broken apart for different speakings and such, I think it would be a good idea if we had "one stage" for everyone who is going to speak to others. Music is another definite. Location is another thing that we need to think about, possibly find an area that would be a good home base for the event Some charities to donate many of the proceeds to as well, Child Abuse, Domestic Violence, Homeless and Environmental causes are some on the top of my list but I want the causes to be what everyone wants, those are just some of my thoughts.

I spoke to my Gods today, I was so excited explaining about it (I know they were thinking she just goes on and on and though we already know all about it we'll still act surprised and just let her be excited anyway...lol) and when I was done they just looked at me and smiled. It was a good day!

So now I'll stop chattering, I think I need more coffee...lol I'll go make the group and then we can begin working on this project together. Next week I'll get a domain name and after the first of the year I'll get an official website put together.

I know that together we can do this! I thank you all for being so wonderful and I look forward to working next to you to bring this dream into a reality!

At the end of last year I told one of my friends that the coming year (2007) would be a year of networking. Kudos Starr..on this idea. I have found that words are some of the most powerful tools we have. Like I have said many times before I want to learn everything I possibly can. By doing so, I have remained opened to listening to others. All beliefs have the same core connection to a Divine being, known by different names. Anything I can do to help.....count me in.

You know I thought about that many times, and I thought it's not who or what somebody believes in that's important; what's important is that they believe. So everyone who believes indeed has the same core, we all find inner happiness and strength in the fact that we believe in something at all; be it a God, multiple Gods, Goddesses, Natures Power, Magic, alternate realms etc. If this sounds like a rambling I'm sorry, not enough coffee this morning...lol

This person walks a completely different path then I do. However, when this person and I talk, they full understand what I am saying by taking my words and turning them into a language that fits their life. We have just always had that kind of relationship, I have a great respect for this person because they believe so strongly in their beliefs....and if they need to take what little I have shared with them and turn it into a language they understand, that is fine with me. Because it all goes back to the same concept.....The core of the Divine.

But how ever we exchange words is based on the way they change my language to process in their mind. I am very careful about things I choose to speak about with this person. I have found that many people that I speak to, does the same thing. (laughs) I remember once trying to explain to my husband how sacred Nature is to me, then went on to explain how sacred the five points on the pentacle is. I decided at that time somethings are better left unsaid until you come across people with an open mind of understanding that each one of us walk our own path. I have spoken to people for so many years how although we each walk our own path, and carry our own belief system....that all in all we connect to the same Divinity, each being called how we see it. I always use the term, we are only facets off of the same Divine Crystal. Blessings.
