I have been a sky-gazer for a long time (well mortally speaking) and Was wondering if anyone else was watching the interesting event leading up to the conjuction of Juipiter-Venus on Nov.30,2008 along with the the rise of the young moon. (it is a spectacular view of the show from the desert here) I thought it would be nice to see what the show is like from different global perspectives, and what better place to ask than here? At my present location (Baghdad,Iraq) is has been a really great show to watch them getting closer to the converge each night. I am posting a link at the bottom of a very informative website that tracks them daily at the bottom of the thread. (in particuliar the night of the conjunction) Hope all are enjoying the show to thoes who can view it ...cant wait to hear the replies of the interested ones! Bright Blessings!
I'm definitely watching. Right now I'm working all the weather magic I have to make the skies clear up (let's see how that works *chuckle*). One of the more spectacular conjunctions we'll be seeing in the near future, to be sure. And hey - stay safe over there, we need you guys back in one piece :)
We have had some really clear skies here and unusually a lot more shooting stars. Also the North star is incredibly bright and seems to be a lot closer than usual. BB.
thanks Fionn oMurchu, i am actually redeploying to come home very shortly...:)) Hope the weather clears for you. Yes there have been alot of metorites lately Earmane, heck look what just happened in Canada just recently!
well, my weather-working went well last night, my wife and I got to see a great view - but now it's clouding up again (supposed to snow tomorrow) so I have to get back to work so we can see the show tonight!
