Lately I have been drawn more and more strongly to the idea of faeries. I've always had an inkling at the back of my mind that there is some truth in the idea of them, but I have no one in "real life" with whom I can discuss this. Any attempt to suggest that faeries might be real would be met with laughter and probably a swift change of subject.
I really am such a newbie here, I can't tell you how much I'd love to be able to work with faeries. To those of you with a bit of knowledge and experience in this area, my basic questions are, in what way do you interact with them? Are they "real" in the sense of how another human is real to you? Do you see them in the flesh, or as a kind of sensory experience? How did you begin working with them, and how do you know your advances are being noticed?
Basically any info at all, really :') Thanks!!
Blessings xox

Permalink Reply by Psyche on October 7, 2012 at 10:28am Oh yes they do exist. I admit I have little experience with them, but when I was a kid I swear I saw them when my mother had a large garden. I truly believe in them.
Permalink Reply by Malitiose Wildyew on October 7, 2012 at 11:10am Personally no,they are not real in the sense of how another human is real to me.
I view Faieries,Alfar,Wights ect the same way.Personal experiences that can not be proven.I also see them as the grey folk, people of the mound those who have died and become one with the land or cosmos.
Look up Aos Sí or Daoine-Sìth for more info. And please do research and find the truth for yourself.Take peoples personal experiences as just that theirs.Find your own truth of the matters other may be able to show you a way but ultimately you must find your own.
Permalink Reply by Celticlass...FAERIE QUEEN on October 7, 2012 at 11:46am I definetly agree on doing YOUR research, looking and "talking" to the FEY in your own way and I have found what some experience wirh faeries others do not. There are many myths, legendsand tales on how the fey interact with people. I would also rcommend Faeriefolk,by Alicien Geddes-Ward from Orkney in Scotkand,as she depicts many Celtic faeries. The Element Encyclopeduia of Mystical Creatures is a good reference too.

And anything by Kathrine Briggs.

Now with all that rampant fruits of imagination, that claim being olde ways and secret traditional paths of Idon'tknowwhat, one might as well turn to that kind of literature and still get something out of it. I liked Frouds and Berks takes on the runes enough. The images do remind me a lot of a few of the "creatures" we know from legends (and drunkies) around here.
I am rather informed about our local creatures and the ones mentioned in other Germanic mythology, but I accept the "fairies" pixie style, I think there is a reason for them to be so popular, even though I could live without the negative implications on the feminine.
That does not mean I don't like all kinds of otherworld beings who came straight out of someone's own imagination.
I try to ignore that reviews call the runes "Celtic".

Permalink Reply by Celticlass...FAERIE QUEEN on October 7, 2012 at 11:44am WE have an ongoing discussion on the FEY,Faeries,Fae,wee folk,Fairys on my groyp FEISTY WITCHES,please feel free to join, add or ask questions. There are also many discussions in the archives on the fey or Faeries. FEY are spiritual entities and are real to whom they make known. We do not pick the ,fey, they pick us,whom they want to work with, contact,be around, ect. faeries are very varied and can be as different as the personalities of people from helpful, good, happy, evil, bad, spiteful, nasty, caring, lovable, useful, mean and every other trait one can think of,most countries and cultures have a belief in the fey, some places,as Scotland,Ireland Welsh fey more common than other couintries. There are Hawaiian fey,Japanese fey,Ausatralian fey,a few others I've looked into..though myself,I work with Scottish and the Irish spiritual entities The biggest misconcept of the fey is that they are ALL darling, wee floatee dancing around the faerie rings many fey are malevolent, fearful, large and can be with a person or familiy for life. NOT ALL FEAERIES are nice, cute, good or kind.....some are dark and powerful and help enable those they deem worthy .They decide. As with all spiritual entities caution is advised when dealing with them. I'm happy to visit with you anytinme. Why and how are you drawn to the fey?

You asked me why and how I'm drawn to working with the fey... It's quite hard to explain. You know the feeling you get when you know that there is someone standing next to you or behind you or basically somewhere close by? Like you know for a fact that they are there, cos you've seen them, and you can sort of sense them without looking at them? Well I have been getting that kind of thing more and more frequently, feeling as though there are, I don't know what word... beings all around the place sometimes, usually when i'm alone, behind chairs and pieces of furniture, around the garden particularly.
Also, I started speaking to them out loud the first day this happened, just saying my thoughts on the subject, speaking openly because I was the only one in the house. Ever since that day I've been losing things that normally I can find in an instant, tripping over, feeling odd ticklings on my nose and neck... I'm well aware I could just be noticing these things more just because I feel like it COULD be the fey, but either way, that's been what has happened ^^
I've also always believed that if faeries are out there, they are spirits of nature and by no means confined to flouncy, picturesque human sterotypes of them :') so I won't be taken by surprise there!
Permalink Reply by Celticlass...FAERIE QUEEN on October 7, 2012 at 1:07pm Agree, the Fey are by no means confined....they are in their realm and as some humans walk between realms at will and connect with those that are open, believe or they have an interest in also....a fleeting look out of the eye? Can be and then ,they can be pherhaps seen more clearer and longer at times ,when they allow it. Talking to the the fey ,is a good way to let them know you are aware of them and they know you are showing an interest, politely and respectfully. You can also set up a "faerie area" where you wish..I have a faerie deck, that I leave offereings for them......
