This may seem asinine of a question, but I've never met one... I'm curious to see what they'd be like...
I mean I'm an American Socialist so stranger things have happened, but yeah, would love to hear their point of view.

For the record I'm UK green voting (partly because i won't or can't bring myself to vote for the other clowns) socialist with traditional views on some things and liberal views on others, can't wait to see where this goes ;)
Permalink Reply by Maris Hellfaerie (Maire) on August 22, 2012 at 3:18pm "socialist conservative" is difficult to translate into US. I am a socialist conservative who votes green, because it is the least evil. As long as people would rather have their neighbours goat dead, than their own to flourish, I am opposing a neo-liberal environment.
Permalink Reply by IpsissimusBoz on August 22, 2012 at 4:33pm i would say you could label me a moderate republican
Permalink Reply by Devil Sexton on August 22, 2012 at 7:14pm all in moderation right? I'll have to hear your points on that, and hit you up Bozimus. Interesting discussions shall take place indeed...
Permalink Reply by Dave Pellani on August 22, 2012 at 7:49pm I think it too narrow to define a pagan as a Republican or of any other political faction, unless they themselves want to be labeled that way. The fact is that all parties have good ideas, but because of special interests that drive both sides of the fence, none of which may be to the greater good of the citizen at large, all parties are subject to egocentrism and altruistic motives that tend to be the problem, rather than focusing on bi partisan solutions. Throw in the ignorance of the average voter who cannot make the distinctions between those who produce, and those who take and give nothing back, and you have the political quagmire that we are in, that frankly, puts the democratic process in future jeopardy.
The whole thing was hinged on the "informed citizen", where freedom of speech by information sources was not originally designed to be abused or bastardized as a tool to lie to people, propagandize them, or deliberately confuse them into making bad decisions.
I've met a few in the Atlanta, GA area... a heavily Red state, so no surprise there! Personally, I'm a Liberal Democrat with a few Libertarian P.O.V.'s tossed in. Interestingly only two of the nearly two dozen pagan republicans I know personally have gone the Teanderthal route! We avoid politics when conversing in person or digitally. Everything's so f**king polarized here.
Permalink Reply by Devil Sexton on August 22, 2012 at 7:19pm Lol at Teanderthal, I had not heard this til now, thank you for showing that new word to me....
Hmmm, that is strange though as I imagine Pagans would be targeted BY the Tea Party if they weren't too busy screwing everything to Hell... almost as bad as the women voting for them basically saying "take my rights"
:/
Permalink Reply by Aurelia Pontia on August 22, 2012 at 6:59pm I don't see why there wouldn't be. Politics and religion are different things.
Permalink Reply by Devil Sexton on August 22, 2012 at 7:18pm Ah, yes refer to the asinine comment I made towards myself, Aurelia :P
It's simply that the republican/movement viewpoint (it's modern incarnation in the United States is becoming very radical, though I assume some traditional level, such as what I believe Boz insinuates above might exist, and I find the two to be roughly incompatible a large portion of the time...)
Thus my curiousity as always implored me to ask the lovely pagans in a barrel.
Permalink Reply by Aurelia Pontia on August 22, 2012 at 7:26pm I could be wrong but I get the impression you'd find more Republicans in those who follow Asatru.
