Probably such a place is haunted by the grief of the living.

Marie, I think that is a very real possibility... before I moved to Richmond Va, I visited there a time or two and there is something about that city that people feel in the air.. there is an overwhelming feeling of sadness and gloom there even to this day.. the natives of that area are not a happy lot of people by any means..they live in the past and are ultra conservative and speak of the past as if it was yesterday.. many battlefields surround the city as well..

I agree Lady. I have been thinking on this since Maries post. Cemeteries are where people go for closure of their grief. They are there for a few minutes. But then go home and feel their grief day after day and that energy builds. That could explain why there are more hauntings in houses than any where else.

I'm still thinking on this, rough draft at the moment...lol.

I wouldn't hang out in a cemetery..The first thing I would do is go check on my family..But then I wonder,, are we at rest when we are put to rest, or are we at rest just after death??

    I lived near one that was overe 150 years old, I used to look through the gates many a night, never saw a single ghost, and this one was supposedly haunted, The Old Cemetary up on 156th St in New York if anyone knows it, by Riverside Drive.

quite agreed most ppl will not continue to stay yes some may in a few instances but most will move on to find something better to do or move on to another plain.
