Sorry. I just looked up Chiggers. They are similar to Ticks. Horrible things!! Yuck!!

I know about the not so bonny wee midges too.....My MOM called all insects and bugs midges. she was from Paisley

Yes Lady S I have used skin so soft also.. totally forgot about it until you mentioned it.. it does work well

I dont care for how that smells too much......Skin so Soft....Yup,I'm good with the "olde remedies " my Scottish MOM had a bunch of them...... too

Haven't had a chance to read all the responses Lass...just a few of them...and nail polish is the ring to use. Doesn't do a lot pre the itch...but it does get did of the pro lee. We always used clear... If I kinda like the red idea! *snickers* hydrocortisone cream for the itching is helping get my son through poison ivy right now...along with benadryl. Lots of good remedies here...have just read a few. Nail polish is not BS. At least for those of us who have used it and it worked for years! Hope you never encounter poison sumac...much worse than poison ivy or poison oak. Stay away from that stuff please!

Lots of things help with chiggers. Just remember that a chigger is a tiny Orange mite that burrows into your skin. If you scrape it off and smash it then you have only the itch to deal with and not scratching it off only to have it dig in again someplace else...like at your pantie line.  Good ol' golden Listerine helps a whole lot, especially if you can kill the chigger first.  Wash with alcohol or Listerine after being outside and a lot of them just die before biting.
