I was wondering what everyone's theory on out of body experiences. I have herd a lot of different theory's out there that just don't make sense and have no logic to them whatsoever. I think people confuse meditation with an actual oobe, like those who claim to fight wars with demons and stuff like that lol. An oobe for me is just me, myself walking around the real world as a ghost nothing more. In my opinion as a well established astral traveler, I personally feel that with my experiences is that when you have an oobe it's nothing more then your soul leaving your body. As a black magician I feel that this is very important to develop control over. In my opinion if you don't do this you will become nothing after death. Kind of like one of those random people you come across during an oobe that just speak in gibberish and have no clue where their at or any idea whatsoever on whats going on. I feel that someone like that will never have a chance to live on because I believe they will stay in that state until they become nothing at all. Well this is just my theory, I'm interested in seeing what you think and your theories and views are.

You can have a lucid dream, which means you know that you're dreaming and in your astral body, and usually you would be on the astral plane. An OBE is when you're in your astral body on the earth plane, so you are a kind of' 'ghost' but because you are alive you are going to wake up.
It was discovered by some researchers that just before either of these experiences starts there is an electrical burst in the brainwaves. A lucid dream can turn into an OBE if the dreamer decides to explore the earth. Some people report back on objects and places they have seen to get proof that they were there.
Waking up from an OBE is often uncomfortable, with shaking or momentary paralysis, and sometimes I've even had a feeling like being put through a wringer. But if you wake up from an ordinary dream or a lucid dream it is instantaneous and not uncomfortable. My conclusion was that this is not the way nature intends for us to wake! Strictly we should be dead if we are in the OBE state, but through the trait of human curiosity people manage to do it while they are alive.
People often fly around in lucid dreams and OBE's because it is exhilerating, but the energy used for this seems to be finite and can run out. It is replenished by eating rich foods. You can increase it by curling your body up and then uncurling quickly, but it is still finite, and it also relates to psychic power.
I can't do this anymore (long story) but I still remember a lot so feel free to ask me about it.
Permalink Reply by magus steve on October 2, 2012 at 1:49am Awesome, I'm glad I met someone who knows what I've been experiencing. Ya it's crazy but it's so hard to do for me anymore since I got sober. I use to abuse Oxycontin, I don't know if I brought myself down so close to death that it was actually easy for me to do or it was the ability for me to relax easier. Anymore when I try it I either do it by accident or I just bring myself to a deep trance to where i remote view or have a similar experience compared to scrying. I wanna learn how to control this, but it's really hard for me to shut down my brain if you know what I mean.

What you are practicing is called "Intending Freedom". Carlos Casteneda and his group of sorcerers practiced dreaming together...their goal was to have complete control over their etheral body and upon death they would be able to control it as well...Its an interesting practice, I believe it stemmed from not wanting to get re-abosorbed back into the energy that is "all", instead they would be free of that and will themselves where ever, forever...
I've done extensive dreaming on different levels and yes, I have bumped into some that have no clue and others that simply freaked out because they saw me, I do believe they thought I was a ghost! Other times I was actually being schooled by spirit guides, they would sit in the corner of my room watching my astral efforts and even critique me. I've seen many an interesting place during my travels, I kind of miss it, seems the older I get the harder it is for me to pop out....
I believe OOBEs are different for everybody and there are different levels of the dreamstate. I've never had to face demons! But I was schooled on how to use my energy outside of my body (usually throwing it from the projected hands), so yes, there is a level of fighting that can go on in different dimensions dont kid yourself about that, if you can leave your body so can other humans and who knows what else....Good Luck with your dreamwork, intend freedom...
Permalink Reply by magus steve on October 2, 2012 at 12:22pm Hey Fen thank you for your reply, I'm going to look into Intending Freedom. What you described to me it has been kind of my own theory and belief. So now im going to look into this and see if I can figure out how to practice this on a regular basis. I'm really trying to figure out how to bring my self down to lucid dreaming so I can make the choice to leave. It's really hard for me, I'm only usually able to do it once a week and thats when I go to sleep every night with the same goal.

Do you mean leave and not return to your body? Let me relate an experience I once had...
I was practicing oob's on a regular basis, I was able to perform them on a daily basis and I recorded all of my experiences..here is one of them....
1/31/98 - Afternoon work - Astral projecting, legs lift up in the air first, I get stuck, I remember to lift my arms to propel out of my body, I release very quickly, I am soaring thru my room, I begin to see a tunnel forming, it is blue with brite white stars, I am going so fast, it is exhilarating, my heart pounds my breath escapes me, I sense I am exiting this existence and I panic, I will myself to go back down, the tunnel disappears, I am back in my body..
No way was I going to go thru that tunnel! I'm not ready to leave this world and thats exactly what I believed would happen, it scared me!
Look into Carlos Castenedas book "The Art of Dreaming"...in the book, he and his group practiced dreaming together where they would meet in the astral plane..
