Does anyone even check out their friend requests?

Hey all - just had a question. I had recieved a friend request and I accepted it first and then went to the page to check out who I had just "made friends" with. Lo and behold, I stumble upon a "Caps Lock" rant about the superiority of the white race and how the other races expect to have a handout from the government. Needless to say, I ended the friendship. When I looked at this page again, there were people coming onto the friend list right and left, leaving little cutsey comments. My question is, do people read people's profiles before accepting, or are we in it for the points? The third and only other possible option would be that people dig that crap. ?!?!

I add ppl of all sorts, alike minded or not for various reasons. I also like having the differing opininos to learn and be open to new things and new ways of looking at things. Sorry if anyone out there thinks I'm "friend collecting" for the points, I reckon there's nothing I can do to change your mind, but I will continue to request and approve ppl just on the fact I enjoy the large community we are building here. I already had 900 something friends when they started the whole point system thing ..... I do it for much the same reasons you do ... to get as well as give others a new perspective & to broaden my path. Also being a teacher it helps to see what is out there to better understand where my students are coming from, and prepare them for other beliefs/paths they may encounter on their spiritual journey. No 1 path is right or wrong .... it is what suits you as an individual .... besides how can you say "this path isn't for me" if you have never explored it?

The same goes for joining groups as well; I always check to see what the group is about before joining.; ▶ Reply to This

if I recognize the name from discussions then I usually have already checked out the persons page, plus I think we get to know people by the way they respond during discussions as well. But I have to be honest and admit that I dont always check out a persons profile before accepting the requests, though I have tried to be more aware of who I am talking to.; ▶ Reply to This
