I've got to get out of Florida

I need to get out of this state it's getting very old.

Anyone else in Florida who can relate? Here are my current gripes.

This place is infested. My apartment is getting overrun with sugar ants and it's like the world doesn't have enough poison for these little bastards. I just read a bit ago Florida is #1 for insect infestations and that alone makes me think anyone who would choose to live here is a little nutty.

The old drivers, you kind of have to see it to believe it.

Churches everywhere. I'm all for freedom of religion but theres like at least one church per street it's wild.

It's hot and sticky.

It's boring if your not rich for the most part. It's like if I was rich if visit here because there's excellent fishing but not good enough to live here.

Its a tourist trap.

A lot of people who live here won't shut up about how great it is.

I want to get on a plane and get to Alaska like yesterday.


I could go on but that's my rant for now if anyone can relate cool and if anyone has advice on the sugar ants it's would be greatly appreciated because they are not fun, I wake up with new bites every day if I was allergic I'd be long past dead.

I wish there was a show like trading spouses called trading states I'd jump on it.

That's news to me. Never thought florida was popular for horse breeding.
We have a few big (old world famous) cattle ranches here in az but many have sold. Some of the best cowboys i have met are native american.

Oh weve got guns, one part im ok with. Im a huge second ammendnent advocate but i dont want to derail my own thread so ill just leave that at that. And if cowboy can be a synonym for redneck we have tons. Rebel flags everywhere and were the 2nd cattle state after texas. Im ok with rednecks and rebel flags too though.

Poor Sylvester, Welcome to every State in the Country. No matter where you are you will find a dislike about it, and then more will come. Instead of being Complacent about, learn to do something about it and find great things to work in the state for you. Not just the opposite as it will happen again no matter where you move to after awhile.

Please don't pop back at me as if I don't live here, because I live in North West Central Florida about 30 min's from Tampa and I love it.

And yes Sat-S we have plenty of cowboy's out here where I live.

I'd say aside from the Keys, the Tampa area is my favorite area of the state.

Haven't been to Miami, but I bet I'd hate it.

Least favorite place, The Red Neck Riviera, aka Panama City. Went there once with my family, heard yokels yelling all night. Never seen so many air brushed shirts.

I could live in the keys but its very expensive down there. The keys are so different they mine as well be a different state. I rank them as one of the prettiest places on earth.

Im not naive i know theres no perfect state. However ive been to over half of the states and i like most of them better than here.

Come live in Missouri for four years then tell me how much you despise Florida. Missouri/Kansas is the Middle of Nowhere. What you see on TV is pretty much what it is. It's the butthole of the US.

Ive been to Missouri and i lived in Kansas. I liked Kansas, i dont remember much of missouri but ive heard it called misery

Comfortable in desolate places though, beats a crowded city to me.

This place is so desolate it drives people crazy. Mid West sucks. I'm looking forward to Florida where there are just as many women as there are men.

I live in Florida and would love to be elsewhere. Yeah, the beaches are nice and I like all the lightning, but that's about all the state has going for it.

Lets see...I am in Florida at the moment have been for about five years..

 

1. Unemployment is outrageous

2. Bugs...I wont even go there lets just say my solution is seriously considering c4 in contained qualities.

3. Drivers from some abyss....they are freakish and I have just about driven everywhere.

4. Orlando.....I hate mickey I just have to say that.

5. It DOES make you appreciate the seasons or at least I think so .

 

 

Now saying all that- there are things I like about Florida. But I know its not going to be where I retire.
