Ok....the houngan's getting off his soapbox and asking something lighthearted. ;)

How often do you serve or observe your faith?

For me, its just about a daily occurrence... I have a candle altar set up at my office (I own my business so its easier for me to decorate as I see fit) and daily light my spirit's candles, pour water and rum, and talk to them about what's going on in my life and what I need.... I have a little altar in my bedroom at home, but its a very small room and there isnt as much room as I'd like to spread out, so I do most of my daily work at the office. (That's changing though... Ive been asking my spirits to grant me more space, and the roomie came up with the idea of moving stuff around in the apartment, giving me the large dining room with the built in cabinetry to do with as I see fit... so it looks like I'll be moving my bedroom into the larger room and either placing my lwa in there in the built-ins or giving them a larger space in what will soon be my library. ;)

So... how often do you serve or observe your faith?

In what way is frequency of observance important to you (if it is?)

Like you, I keep an altar in my bedroom. I typically light a candle (I confess, not a real one because I'm afraid I'd burn the house down) and say a quick invocation/prayer to start every day. I am much less thorough about ritual observance. For me, my goddess is present always and I honor her always. Don't know if that answers your question. I think the answers to this are as individual as each practitioner's habits.

Oh, totally.... this is definitely an area where noone's ever going to tell anyone else they're doing it wrong. ;) Im just curious ;)

Have you tried either birthday candles or chanukah/shabbat lights? They usually burn totally down in a really fast time, you dont have to worry about them setting fire to the house as it'll totally burn down with you just standing there. ;)

I never thought of that! What a wonderful idea! I am going to go out and buy some soon.

I never thought about that--might work. Sometimes I like to leave a light lit for my goddess though. It's a continuity thing--I am with her; she is with me.

Well, I pray daily, I "run a program" (my Chaos Magick speak, heh) wherein I honor the Roman (version of) the gods for each day of the Week (I quite enjoy that!) and I do whatever strikes me to do (Sigils, Blessings, etc.)

I'd like it to be a more daily occurence with gradual (okay, quicker) improvement in so many Magick-based areas, but I require a certain stability and peace of mind for that, usually, and that's been a bit hard to come by lately. I need to meet some fellow Mages (in person) or even join a Coven to expand further, I think. Wish me luck, eh?

Everyday I have my rituals. I have three altars. A main one, one to the Dark Goddesses, and my ancestral altar. I make sure I have clean water in a chalice that is on my ancestral altar, and I light an oil burner every morning.

I have may daily meditations, which I do at my main altar that is in my living room. I light incense for my Dark Goddesses. I also put bird food out on my outside altar for all of the critters.

I have a bedroom altar and say a prayer at the start and end of every day. Typically asking Her blessing and protection. I am not one to have special rituals for the 8 sacred holidays except for Yule which I celebrate as the start of a new year.

Prayer is something I perform often, amidst my daily activities. Rituals are performed less often, as are spells. Really I just go with my feeling. There have been times when I would decide to work a spell, yet I take time to prepare for it, often a week or more. More often than though, whatever it would have been for comes to me before I actually have to perform it.

Same for me, I pray everyday before bed. Spells are as needed for me.

As often as I am called by spirit or other. As of late...not much but I think the tide is turning.

Outside of formal events, I have regular morning Reiki and Yoga practice (back-to-back, not blended), evening invocations prior to dreamwork, and adhoc Craftwork (mostly energy work
or kitchen witchery) pretty much on a daily basis as needed or inspired.

. . . more important in the sense of continuity than anything else. Example: I don't remember "Oh, I'm a Witch" every evening at 10:00 and go do something Witchy. At this point it feels like a regular flow rather than an observance.
