Last week, my mom, boyfriend and I went to see a psychic. I was house sitting for my father and I had noticed that there was a new psychic down the street, so we all decided to try it out. She said she did everything from palm reading to Tarot Reading to Chakra and Spirit readings. I had a palm reading before at the corn festival, and the reader was very accurate with my read so I thought I would try it again to see where my lines had shifted and changed.

The first thing that really made we not feel right about the psychic we saw last week is that she was pushing Christianity and church in her reading. I grew up Christian, I even went to a Catholic junior high school, and I was told growing up that everything I was doing such as Tarot, and palm reading was against the Christian church. However I have had issues with the Christian church, and I have been seeking my own spirituality now including mu curiousity with Tarot,, palm reading, mediations, and pyschic ablibilty.

The second thing is she had told each one of us that we had spirits following us. Here's the thing with as many people that have died in this world I could easily see how you can run into a restless spirit or two. However she was claiming that it was the reason for a bad luck. She told me that this spirit that was following me was the real reason why I am distracted from writing my story and why I am so unhappy most of the time. The thing is ever since puberty I would have moments of unhappiness, I just believe it is hormones, not necessarily a spirit.

The third thing that really rubs me the wrong way about this psychic is she was pushing all of us getting cleansings. I understand that cleansing are very important, but I just paid 20 dollars for a reading that maybe she could tell me something about me that I didn't know or what possiblities there in my future with my writings. I wasn't looking at her like a doctor at a check up and I have to go back every three months for a 100 dollar cleansing. She was trying to get at least 100 dollars out of each of us. I understand some people make a living using their psychic gifts, but I really felt she was just too pushy with it.

I was just wondering has anyone else has a bad experience with a psychic?

first we all know that in many traditions we each have a guardian of some sort what ever your path . second their are many who use their said gifts now days to make a living and I asoom that most are full of brag and no glory, and most who are real we will never come in contact with. don't you believe it! your luck dear is ones though of mind if you fill your having bad luck this is ones own mind set, change it! Im not going to say you will be lucky all the time because that's not how life works as rain falls on all of us,
we each have the power to bring into reality our own thoughts and these thoughts spoken out loud is what makes up our own individual worlds so in reality you are as you say ' YOU ' are. our lives are maginets and we pull energy towards us and we release it , so I would say make sure that which you attract is good and what you want. as for the bull shit not all MP

For every person you find (and you may never find any BTW) that has a bit of talent and some ethics, there are 20 or more out there without either. Personally I'd just work on your tarot skills. :)

I personally haven't had a bad experience, the temple i attend has our fair share of Readers but only one psychic and believe me i don't know how she pulled it off but she nailed everything spot on, she had made contact with my father who had passed away and described his to a T all the way down to his rolled up sleeves and work shirts, she had told me the gender of my unborn(of course you get a 50/50 there of course) and abit more information that is abit personal. SO I'm a believer.

I'm a Rune caster for our temple and there are plenty who read tarot, stones, etc. and none of us claim psychic abilities, intuition yes but being able to read someones future....no. I do believe however that one can go beyond human intuition and see into things unknown and bring messages , warnings, blessings for others.

I actually do believe psychic ability exists, I have had far too many first hand experiences to dismiss it. However I am also sure that most so called Psychics are just good people readers and prey on the vulnerability of others. My experience with psychic phenomenon is that it is very random, sometimes you would get something very clearly and sometimes nothing at all. I would hate to claim myself as a psychic and charge people for the service because it has a huge responsibility and there is added pressure to invent scenarios so the customer feels they are getting value for money. In general do not trust psychics offering their services for money, I would place more trust in my own instincts for the future, the subconscious knows what is right for us and we all have some intuitive abilities, so tune in to your self for answers, no one know you better than you. This is only my opinion, there may be some very genuine psychics providing a great service.

The Psychics on TV always make me laugh, the ones who couldn't predict next Tuesday with a calendar. You all know the type. "I'm getting a name, it's John, Jack, Jock Jim, it could be a woman Gwen Jane" While all the time thinking to themselves, I'm floundering here, some dumb sucker in the audience raise a hand and help me out. . . Please?

The best ones I find for Comedy Value are the Halloween TV Ghosts and spook Psychics, who walk around in the dark, in a house that would give Stephen King bad dreams, talking to themselves, asking "One tap for No, and two for yes." or my Favourite questions "Why are you still here?" (Damn rude if you ask me.) and "Did you die here?"

What about the psychics that advertise on this site? Now those are comical.

there's one to the right of the screen... -------->

"What's in your future? Ask a psychic a FREE QUESTION"

My question is "How much will you charge me for my second question?" lol

This is how you test a Psychic, like the ones online. Sit in your underwear wearing a pointed Witch's hat, one boot, dark glasses and flashing red bow-tie. Then ask them to describe what your wearing, as your free question.

If they get if right, then they're the real deal, either that, or you left your web-cam on. . . DOH!!!

The answer to that is obvious, but since you can't pay perhaps your girlfriend can, or you can sell your guitar for the funding, but of couse that is after you pay your court costs and talk with your probation officer. :-)
