I have had chronic, severe migraines for years. They really are just awful. Recently, I heard that lemon balm gives great relief to migraine sufferers. I went to my local pagan supply store and bought some. Good thing too, because I got a beast of a migraine yesterday. I couldn't see out of my right eye, my hand and face was numb..the whole shebang. I opened the bag of lemon balm and put it on my chest, just breathing it in. Within an hour the symptoms were gone, not even with a HINT of pain. Just a bit of pressure today. Could it have been a coincidence? Sure. But with my track record of being bedridden and feeling like death has decended...I doubt it. I am completely sold on lemon balm!
What herbs do you use and for what? What are some of the best results you've had?
Definately! I recommend it to anyone. And after the 100's of dollars I've spent over the years looking for a pill or remedy. Who knew all I needed was a $4 bag of herbs! =)
it's wonderful to hear positive results like yours hon. thanks so much for sharing. I love adding lemon balm to foods as well as teas. It helps me a lot with stomach troubles.
Oh you can eat it???? I didn't know that. How embarrassing! lol
I'm pretty new to herbs, and I know there are some that are poisonous...so I don't eat many of them. I usually just breathe them in or simmer them in my little pot.
Yup. You can eat Lemon Balm. I haven't figured out what to do with it as far as cooking, but I have a plant in my dining room (which is where all my herbs are, currently.) The plant I got was from a grocery store. It's thriving...but needs a bigger pot.
Nettles are supposed to be good for healing if you put a bowl/bunch of them under a sickbed.
I don't know for sure that they worked, but I put a bowl of them under my bed when I was feeling particularly bad one day (I was having stomach issues). The next morning, I felt much better. The sinus headaches I'd been getting (and usually got during that season) were gone, too, for a few weeks after that.
