Greetings and salutations.

Well, this seems like the place to start, if I'd like to get active in discussions. :) I admit, I joined this site a few months ago, and then promptly forgot about it (school has a tendency to eat my life). I just recently remembered this place existed, and figured I'd try it out for a second time.

So, hello, PaganSpace. My name is Kate. I am mostly blind, and a perpetual student. I'm currently in the first year of my PhD, studying linguistics, so really, I've pretty much been in school forever. :P (And I will happily babble on at you about language-related stuff if you let me.)

Paganly, I call myself an eclectic, for lack of anything better. I don't worship any specific Gods, rather, I'm a bit of a pantheist. I'm also a big fan of science, and reconciling that with a belief in magic is proving interesting. I'm not really any flavour of neoWiccan, and it seems like most eclectic Pagans are, so I haven't really found anyone who believes similarly to me, but that's where hanging out in places like this comes in.

So yeah, I guess I'm just looking to meet people, chat, share ideas, all that good stuff.

Haha, neoWicca, in and of itself, isn't bad. Things that are more likely to make me run away include cultural appropriation, and an overabundance of unchecked privilege.

It's not an accurate assessment imo as I'm sure you'll see, besides when someone who's a member here tells you to run, that kinda seems a little odd especially since they haven't taken their own advice (must not be too bad...lol :) Welcome to PaganSpace Kate, enjoy your time here and have an awesome week!

I expect it will actually be like most places, some people are really awesome about not misappropriating other cultures and/or checking their privilege, and others will just make me facepalm repeatedly. Don't worry, I'm holding off on judgement until I've been here longer; I like giving people the benefit of the doubt.
