How do you deal with unsolicited visitors with a religious agenda?

Often times, when least expected there is a ring at the door...The visitor is sharply dressed and offers to talk to you about their religious experiences...How do you deal with that?....Do you let them in and have an intelligent discussion over tea?....Do you slam the door and say take your dogma someplace else?...Most people are familiar with the Jehovahs Witnesses and the Mormons comming by...I would like to hear your experience and how you deal with it....Is it a problem in your area?...Do you welcome it?..or Do you scoff at them?....I would love to hear from you and your experiences...then I will share how I deal with it....In Light and Love...Mykhal

I talk with them outside no matter if it is hot or cold .. Try to touch them as you talk to them .. Pat them on the shoulder and invade their space .. get close to them :) They don't stay around to long .. Be really nice to them ... And agree with any thing they say ... Is fun and i think i have scared a few ..lol

Certainly not, and I would imagine they get that alot. However, since we are the lost (Christian Dogma) they will just keep coming. However; my understanding of the Bible is once they bring you the "word" you either accept or reject it. Their mission as it reguards to you is finished and you shouldn't see that person again, but they can be persistant in that they feel that they have failed if you don't accept the word.

My response really depends on the intent and spirit of the conversation. I thouroughly believe that no matter what path someone follows...there is a path that leads to an enlightened state of being...So it doesn't matter if your a Christian, Jew, Muslum, Pagan or any other path...I do beleive that all paths lead to the same source...The All, The One, Primordal Diety...the question usually is Can you truely live in Peace? When by Biblical Directive one is driven to convert and preach the Gospel to those that are not Christian? It is open to interpretation...As a Wiccan Clergy I have learned and accepted all paths to lead to Diety...but that is not the norm...Many Blessings Alice

I would so love to try that! Only I have no patience with people who have interrupted me at something or merely invaded my space simply by being on my doorstep (especially if they are affiliated with organised religion). I've always been against door to door soliciting of any kind. You're invading people's spaces to sell them ideas or products they don't want or otherwise don't need. There are other more appropriate places for soliciting.

Just tell them that you only have such deep, meaningful conversations with people you feel you know, and if they want to come in and have everyone get naked and sit down together so everything is out in the open you'd feel comfortable with a discussion.

I ask if they are willing to hear my thoughts if I am willing to listen to them. If not I say I am a witch and do not have the time for listening to sheeple mentality. Have a nice day.

I just tell them I am not interested. I am a witch and that steers them away. I haven't had them come to my door in a long while. I think they got the message :)

I can understand that...I live in an area that is overtly Southern Baptist and some are what can be considered Zealots...at least that is my interpretation of it...since moving here I haven't had anything but..."What church do you go to child"? or something of that nature...

To that question I always answered with "To the Round Church where Your Devil can not catch me"
