How many people believe that seeing a wild animal in your area is some kind of an omen

I was driveing to day to get a few things and along the side of the road I saw a beatifull fox. He was very happy noesing around a bush. His coat was starting to turn colors from red to white. He was beautifull and as I passed him a wave of joy and a tinglie feelling came over me. Now I do believe that animals can be omens Im just courious how many others there are out there who believe the same thing and what do the animals mean? ( In your oppinions)

I do!

God/dess speaks to us through Nature, including animals.
Like Lady Seren stated, Ted Andrews books are Amazen!

This is interesting, because for a few weeks now I've been looking up totem animals and such and recently found that one of them may be a deer. A few days ago I was visiting a graveyard (of all places) and two deer were suddenly walking right in front of me. Of course even my slightest movement made them run, but it was ironic, I mean, how often do you see deer in graveyards? Of course there was a small wooded area outside of the area, but still, it was neat. It felt like a sign or something.....
So, basically I think that if the experience hits you as feeling important, then it probably is! Animals are just another way nature gives us clues to finding our ways on our paths....
I wouldn't call it an 'omen' though, because that gives the connotation of something bad... ; )

i do i see deer and bunnies and its usually when i need love and when i need to feel better, or the deer are there by my house because they feel safe by my house. They show up to me and they make me feel better and it makes me feel like things are going to get better. thats because there positive beautiful animals and we have a long standing animal connection to them.
there are many connection examples.im glad you asked.

Some years ago I went on a road trip with many members of the Teaching Circle I helped lead. We went to Heartland Pagan Festival in Tonganoxie Kansas.
I was the only member of our group who participated in the Sweat Lodges that were offered. On the trip home the car I was in was the last in line and the other person in the car was asleep, a Coyote crossed my path. I was the only one who saw it. It ran right across the highway in front of our car.
That coming year I had some of the most painful and difficult lessons about Magic and the Craft, Loyalty and Wisdom. It was really brutal as coyote lessons go.
I went to sweat the next year with the same people running the lodge at heartland just to be certain I ended the cycle.
Animals can be messengers if you are listening for the message. At times the message is to rejoice and enjoy a gift of the Goddess and God. Other times it will tell of things to come. Unfortunately you only see the message clearly after the lesson is learned.

I was reading some of these and remembered hearing an owl out side my bedroom window a few nights ago and last night a freind of mine called me and told me that she had a death in the family. at the time when I heard the owl I took it as a worning but I was soo worried about my little dog that I didnt focus to much on it. silly huh

I really dont think seeing a wild animal is an omen of anykind. I'm sure the animal in question is happy to life its own life and has no interest at all in human concerns etc etc...

Every day there are more and more wild animals showing up in cities and suburbs; I've seen coyotes in downtown Tucson, and a coyote that appears frequently in the company of a crow where I go hiking in the woods. The two experiences are different. The first instance deals with blind human encroachment. We have bears coming into suburbs in Atalanta; deer are getting hit by cars everywhere. The second instance is one in which we consciously choose to interact with nature. Both can feel magickal. I don't believe any of these encounters are accidental...
I see wild animals on a daily basis where I live. If you think you might be experiencing an omen, check out the circumstances of your encounter; pay attention to what is going on in your life at that moment, what thoughts are going through your mind right then, and what your emotional state is; the encounter may help you in solving something you are dealing with; and listen to your inner bell to hear what it tells you...

We share the earth with Trillions of other life forms. It only natural that we'd encounter these other creatures at some point. I can go into our TV room and look at a spider that’s been living in our window frame for the past month, it’s just there because its warm and maybe it likes TV, I wouldn't consider it an omen.

I believe that some animals that cross our paths can be omens. Certainly not all of them. I'm careful not to force a meaning to every encounter. The 'omens' feel different. The air feels different, sharper. It's hard to explain. When I see an animal in my immediate environment that I've never seen before, and know it to be very rare, then I still don't jump to conclusions. I will take a moment to watch and admire and feel the wonder of it. When I see manatees or dolphins, or sandhill cranes, or magnificent frigate birds, that was pretty awesome. I saw a booby of some sort the same day as the frigate birds. I love to see animals in the wild.
