I began wearing Cancer oil to 'increase my personal powers', just a dab on the backs of my hands every morning, except now I have a rash. So does anyone have any ideas on using personal oils without touching the skin? I've thought about wearing a small vile of it around my neck, but I'm not sure that'll work. The oil really seems to work for me and I don't want to stop wearing it! Any suggestions?
Blessed be.

Maybe work a dab into the ends of your hair? Or dilute it with a carrier oil, like grapeseed or jojoba, so it won't be so concentrated.

The ends of the hair trick is perfect.. just make sure it's not hair that might poke you in the eye.

Depending what is in it, it could dry the hair out and I know how some people view 'hair' as a source of personal power.

I'm hypersensitive to most things to include scented oils. I do find that the least sensitive areas on my body are the cartlidge of the ears. I love Amber Oil. I'll find a way to wear it, no matter who makes it and the potential for irritation. In a pinch, I'll dab it on clothing so it's not against my skin, or on jewelry. Wood is a great absorber of oils. You know those wooden bracelets (Mala beads)you can buy with unfinished beads? Or hell, make one. Just roll the wood in the oil before you go to bed. By morning, it should be pretty well absorbed. You can wear it against your skin, without getting an irritation.

I recharge my beads with Sandalwood all the time. Works like a charm. The only problem is figuring out how much to use so that when you go to put it on, you don't have alot of oil left over.

Yeah, it takes some experimenting. That's why I suggest that you do it the night before, to give it time to absorb. Not a bad idea to lay them on a towel to pick up any excess.

Oils can interact with the oils on your skin in interesting ways. If you wear them for perfume like I do sometimes, you may find that what smells good in the bottle may react funny and make you smell not so good when you wear them (patchouli is a good example, smells good, but makes some folks smell like feet).

So here are some ideas:

*Put the oil on your clothes instead of on you (warning, this can stain fabric).
*Find jewelry that is made for scented oils. I can't remember what they're called, but you can find lockets with little grates in them, you put a cork, cotton cloth, or sponge in them with the oil you want to use. These were popular in Victorian times, they'd put smelling salts in them so when ladies passed out from the restrictive corsets they'd sniff these and revived themselves.

*If you wear pants with pockets, or, maybe as another way to work these, is you can make a satchel or charm that features the oils, maybe add a few herbs and stones too and wear them... you can also put them in your bra if it's not too uncomfortable (this option is easy for the well endowed ladies).

Just a few ideas... good luck!

Rubbing alcohol works really well for this. I use it to dilute eucalyptus oil that I want to use to treat bug bites.

Although rubbing alcohol DOES have a distinct smell...lol

I bought a hinged lid pendulum, and put a cotton ball inside with the oil on it. It's a greenman in sterling silver , and not so expensive as the lockets. Plus it double duties as a pendulum!

I dilute with vodka which is known for thwarting rashes on the skin and skin irritations... just my preference. I have ultra sensitive skin and vodka works great as a carrier for the oils I use as perfume. Hope it works out!

Great for making tinctures too! This is good advice. I have used Vodka before as well.

I use it... a little for the oil... a little for me.... teehee!!!! :) I got poison ivy last year and took a vodka bath... cleared it right up.

If I used vodka, I'd be drunk, and still covered in a rash, because all the vodka would be in me instead of on me. *sigh*
