Alive or Dead, who would it be?
I'd prefer someone alive, lol.
Seriously though, my pick is Shi Yan Ming.

I mean come on, a Shaolin Warrior Monk who defected to the US, has kids, and if friends with RZA; clearly this dude is the coolest person ever.
Also his one inch punch is equivalent to a 30mph car crash. I admire this not because of the damage it could do to a human form, but because I know this took an insane amount of dedication and focus.
Also, I believe he has mastered Iron Egg/Iron Crotch/Iron Egg technique, no thanks on learning that one.

Permalink Reply by Níos Sine Dia on May 9, 2012 at 2:02am How would she make a spiritual adviser? I've just never understood the cult of celebrity. I also wouldn't accept advice from Jim Morrison, Bob Marley, or Hunter S Thompson. I'd probably do the opposite anything any member of The Beatles told me.
I'd listen to RZA, but since he calls Shi Yan Ming, Sifu(orShifu), his wisdom is derivative and valid.
I doubt Janice Joplin hung out with the Dali Lama very often.

Permalink Reply by Ritalin-Bunny on May 6, 2012 at 7:36pm I'd pick Boudicca.
She wasn't afraid to throw the dice.
Permalink Reply by Níos Sine Dia on May 9, 2012 at 2:04am Not a bad pick, as far as "royalty" goes.
Probably what my mom would say. My mom is pretty cool(actuallyprettylamebutit'scool), so it's a compliment.

Elvis ;)

He was a Christian, the opposite of a healthy eater, he had substance abuse problems, etc.
How would you benefit from his advice?
Permalink Reply by Barry J King on May 6, 2012 at 10:47pm Alive or Dead, who would it be? Ronnie James Dio.
Permalink Reply by Níos Sine Dia on May 9, 2012 at 5:31am Why?
Don't get me wrong, I like Dio and all, but I wouldn't pick 'em as a spiritual adviser.
Permalink Reply by Barry J King on May 10, 2012 at 8:20am Well, for starters, he had four decades in the business I love. From fronting Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath & a illustrious solo career. I do not separate success & finances from my spiritual well being. I want happiness in this life.
I could point out that when I am performing music or listening to music, it is a spiritual experience for me. Also, I've listened to his interviews & have found his views of spirituality was in many ways in line with mine.
Listen to the melodies, rhythms of his music. Listen to the words & read the lyrics they are full of little pearls of wisdom.
Can you hear me
Can you see
There's a storm on the edge of the sky
Does it matter
It does to me, I can tell you why
When there's thunder, there should be rain
But it don't always follow the rule
And is the wise man always right?
No he can play the fool
It's always a Mystery, not what it seems to be
It's always a Mystery, just like you and me
We are lightning
We are flame
And we burn at the touch of a spark
If there's fire, but no one sees
The there's only the dark
Just imagine, will you try
I can see that you've opened your mind
Silver linings can disappear,
but they always shine
It's always a Mystery, not what it seems to be
It's always a Mystery, just like you and me
