I Have Felt The Passion , I Have Felt The Flame ,

Burned In Desire , And Called Out Some Name ,

Held Out Some Hope , And Then Gave Up Dominion ,

I Flew So High , And Then Fell Into Oblivion ,

I Felt The Power Of Fire , I Felt The Power Of Ice ,

And Still I Loved , I Dared , I Sacrificed ,

Embraced My Shadow , And Revealed My Light ,

Beyond All Which Some Call Wrong Or Right ,

And You , You Who Have Lived Your Path ,

Through All Your Joy , And All Your Wrath ,

I Ask , All The Powers That Be , Just One More Time ,

In All Our Cojoined  Madness , Be My Valentine !

A dark Valentine's Day poem!  Lovely!

By the time you swear you're his,

Shivering and sighing,

And he vows his passion is

infinite, undying -

Lady, make a note of this:

One of you is lying.

- Dorothy Parker

Dorothy Parker was a goddess of snark.  Hails to Dottie -- the gothiest woman who ever lived!

My absolute favorite Dorothy Parker poem:

Rainy Night

Ghosts of all my lovely sins,
Who attend too well my pillow,
Gay the wanton rain begins;
Hide the limp and tearful willow.

Turn aside your eyes and ears,
Trail away your robes of sorrow,
You shall have my further years-
You shall walk with me tomorrow.

I am sister to the rain;
Fey and sudden and unholy,
Petulant at the windowpane,
Quickly lost, remembered slowly.

I have lived with shades, a shade;
I am hung with graveyard flowers.
Let me be tonight arrayed
In the silver of the showers.

Every fragile thing shall rust;
When another April passes
I may be a furry dust,
Sifting through the brittle grasses.

All sweet sins shall be forgot;
Who will live to tell their siring?
Hear me now, nor let me rot
Wistful still, and still aspiring.

Ghosts of dear temptations, heed;
I am frail, be you forgiving.
See you not that I have need
To be living with the living?

Sail, tonight, the Styx's breast;
Glide among the dim processions
Of the exquisite unblest,
Spirits of my shared transgressions,

Roam with young Persephone.
Plucking poppies for your slumber . . .
With the morrow, there shall be
One more wraith among your number.

-- Dorothy Parker

Thank you , for those who appreciated the poetry...

And , I was hoping one poem inspired more...thanks !

Keep it going !

I tried posting this the other day from a mobile device, but all I could see was a row of squiggles. So now I will try again. This is Not my own original work, I found it on the net as is.
I am not sure that worked this time either. Bugger!

I squiggled lines , until I saw your message...

I do not plan on having those things happen to me...

Not yesterday , today , or tomorrows to come...

And thank the horned god I'm not Christian , because

if that's what it takes to be a saint of love , I'm out...

( was he buggered , on top of it all ? or would that be bottomed ? )

Thanks , for the post , Karen...;)
