The thing is, AIDS isn't very new, it's been around for damn near ten or twenty years now. It's talked about, and unfortunately the newer generations don't understand the severity of it. It isn't nearly as deadly as it was, but it's still pretty damn deadly to say the least. But it's hard to press that point home, it's been around so long.
Give it some time and Swine Flu will go much the same once people are worn out of it, or when they realize that it isn't as deadly as it's hyped. With prevention both can be well... prevented, but I'm thinking this is a case of just the fact that AIDS is old news so to speak, even if it is around every single day, media coverage for it isn't good, it doesn't get the masses riled like it used to so no more media coverage of it really.
Bad news sells, bad news that's new sells better. It's a sad fact of how things have been working for quite some time in society in general.
very true of what you say here, but the media is king not anyone else. they decided to feed us with all of this garbage that create fear. I know in the uk there is one news paper that many people class as a rag but I think it tells the truth more then anyother paper. One day we will realise the mistakes we have made
