Permalink Reply by Woodsong Lorn on October 23, 2012 at 11:18am First - the 'K' - It's perfectly O.K. to spell things in funny ways if it clarifies one's meaning. By 'musick' I automatically assume we're not talking of Lady Gaga and rather tones, melodies, and harmonizations meant to be used in sacred ritual, prayer, or to just open one's mind to the divine. However, all music has magic in it. I toyed around with funny spellings for a while, but I mostly avoid it now.
I've written (conjecture) on this subject, and I know of several people on PS who have a practise in music magic. I have to get back to work for now, but I'll return to this later.

Permalink Reply by Woodsong Lorn on November 2, 2012 at 9:20am Which English do you mean? Chaucer's English, for example, is vastly different from modern English. As late as the 18th (and in some areas 19th) century, the spelling of words in English was not standardised. When the first dictionaries were published, there were probably people then who said, R.I.P. English, just the same.

Permalink Reply by Woodsong Lorn on November 2, 2012 at 9:20am Again - the odd spelling clarifies what kind of music it is. Muzak, originally a silly business name, has become the recognised spelling of watered-down instrumental-only versions of pop tunes. In centuries past, the same person might even spell one's own name differently from time to time, and they certainly did spell things like music a few different ways.

Permalink Reply by Corey Cater on October 24, 2012 at 1:38am mind you all i use the odd spelling because I'm just typing what names I have found, its a nearly dead craft by what ive found, don't get me wrong there are of course many musicians today, but only a handfull are actually using musick magic for an actual purpose, for example the widely famous devils tritone used by bands and artist's everyday such as the rolling stones, slayer, the faceless and many other countless acts.
what I am looking for is enlightenment on the rest of the craft, for example why every key affects a different type of person more potently based on their astrological sign, or why the key of A affects the third eye chakra

that is not music. That's Fuckin' Slayer.
This "there is no real music anymore" is mostly complained about by either conservative metal heads, or frustrated musicians without success.
