A gumnan, one gunman,in Aurora,Colorado opened fire in a theatre after throwing in tear gas, shot over 70 people, killed 12,I believe.a pattern today. I see the middle road ,grey area, getting less and less. either people are one of the good guys or one of the bad more and more. We all lean one way or the other or do we? Striving for balance is tough, indeed, but to do that? In MY OPINION,that is evil puerly......thoughts?

with it's my understanding when purchases like these are made it must be reported .. where did he get the money to buy this stuff? so why wasn't it reported.. he also gave up without a fight and is not talking much.. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop such as another explosion
If the person was to go to different stores to purchase the items, no 'warning bells' would go off. And money can be obtained in MANY ways ("where there's a will there's a way") If he had been planning this for months and was smart enough to do it in such a way, I'm sure he was smart enough to find ways to keep from being suspected of something.
I wonder if there isn't some (organized crime?) reason that this guy wanted in the system for?? I wonder also, if he was one of those guys who plays so many video games/reads too many comics (ie desensitizes to violence) and created that fantasy? (like role playing?) Maybe he just has a thing against Batman fans?? Was there someone specific he was targeting trying to make it look 'random'?? ...I would really love to know why he did this...

Permalink Reply by Party Pooper on July 22, 2012 at 9:52am if we owe anything to the victims of this event, it is that-to figure out what lead this person to this end, and to try and figure out how we can stop other people from seeing killing fellow humans as the only option left to them
I would like to think that there will always be a way to prevent something like this from happening in the future, but I am skeptical since these murderers take every step to hide what they are doing. If they are crazy enough to plan something so horrible, as what this guy did, who is to say the person will accept treatment or preventative help? Who is also to say that we will catch them all, especially if the bad guy goes out of their way to hide their plot?
Permalink Reply by Sylvester on July 22, 2012 at 9:59pm I see a couple of primary issues when it comes to stuff like this. The first part I see is identity. People aren't as willing to work hard to make a name for themselves as much as copy someone else to get the credit. The second half is interwoven, and that is fame. They want the fame and want it now. They act like the only way to have fame is to use someone else's ideas or identity, commit acts so brutal they make the news, and suddenly in their mind, they're famous. Ever since Colombine, any half brained idiot realized that they can do things so shocking that they can make the news. So suddenly, they're a star. Look at how much publicity this guy in Colorado is getting. (I believe in what one of the victim's friends said when they said they would not use his name). It's been on the air almost 24/7 since it first happened. How long before they start claiming that a need for fame is a mental illness? People who think for themselves and believe in working hard will accomplish things on their own and make their own fame. The people who do these kinds of things represent only a small portion of the overall population, but even one of their "fame" time is more than any of us can hope to accomplish on our own in our lifetime. I believe that's where the problems lie. Identity and fame. Teach people to think for themselves, learn for themselves, and act for themselves. Instead of cookie cutting them through school to get them into the "real" world, reward individuality. Let them have more discussions that aren't regulated to being right or wrong, but merely topics of conversation. Dont make the idea that someone's wrong because their different. Acknowledge that they are different and congragulate them on individuality. How many kids can't even have their own distinct pencils because the school forces them to conform? How many kids have to have generic folders in school to prevent gang or social affiliations? How much are we going to try to make our kids exactly like one another, creating even more identity problems that can spawn problems like this? As to the fame.... Show lists of the innocent. Let the law enforcement and courts worry about the person who created the tragidy. Dont give them the limelight. Don't let them take it away from those who's lives mattered, not give it to the one who wants to end theirs in a blaze of glory or imprisonment. Focus on the positive (there are survivors and the police didn't blow themselves up). Use the negative as a tool to learn from, not focus on the name. Remember those that matter.
