Material Things.. Are they that Important?

I live with very little comfort items and materiel things... Fancy cell phones and such do not impress me.. Just a way for the government to keep up with me, and even though I have nothing to hide, I do value my privacy... I do NOT have fancy clothes, shoes, haircut and makeup... I am what I am a middle aged woman sure of herself and her path I have a killer sense of humor.. a way with animals and kids and I am a plain jane with a beautiful soul...I live to let live and encourage others to do the same.. I am a advocate of free speech and expression... I can raise a herd of cattlr, rids a horse and shoot a gun as well as a bow... I can play pool with the best of some and not as good as most.. I write poems and lyrics that will make you stand up nad take notice.. I an I mother, a lover a friend.. In saying all ir this, I ask you to share yourself,,, what have you got to lose??

I request no name calling and derogatory comments... We are all special and therefore should be able to toot our on horn from time to time...

OH YEAH... I'm an awesome cook, too! :)

It's all about what you do, who you are and how others see you. I think that's the most important thing in life.

I always look at it like this: Everything you can remember when you're old and at your dying bed is what's important. And i will recall the love i gave and have received, the things i did (looking at a sunset, helping that old neighbour etc), i will recall the things i did togheter with my loved ones, the things i enjoyed doing. And i will most certainly not recall buying an ipod or an LCD television.

I feel all the things in my home (tvs, computers, phones, ect) can be replaced. My love ones can not. I only dress up for work when I have to (which is Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) and on the weekends I came to work in jeans and t-shirt (in the summer) or sweatshirt (in the winter). I used to work with someone who had to have the best of everything...it made her a very nasty person. (Not saying all material people are nasty). I personally do not care if I don't have all the comfort things out there. I am thankful for a roof over my head, food to eat, and the love of friends and family.

That is all I need, and you are truly a friend I will cherish forever!

Probably the fanciest thing I have is my computer, which I need to talk to my friends! I have a cell phone and thats all...no house phone, and basic cable on my tv because I have to have it to have my cable modem. I do not have but one 'fancy' dress for special occassions, make up to a mimimum, because I rarely were it. I cut my own hair...lol...I mess up a lot but it grows back! My car is a '96 Nissan,long since paid for that I take good care of, and it takes care of me. No fancy furniture in my house, most of what I have was given to me.
I can be a bit extravegent when it comes to books, tho.
I like myself, me and myself are very good company. I dearly love my family, my friends and my dog. I will fight for each and every one of them till the end! And that is what matters in life most of all.; ▶ Reply to This

For the the little things like love and generosity are key. All i ask for is respect and to know that I have people to look forward to when hanging out. The only thing I really asked for is a new windshield for my car, because it had a huge crack in it.

As for other things, I don't really need those fancy gadgets, although they are shiny...I know typical for me I like shiny things, the reason I'm a raven totem. I just love the simpler kinds of things. Make up doesn't interest me, i don't wear it, never liked it, the only things i have for jewerly are a few things i got for the holidays and for my birthday, Even that I don't wear much for jewlery. And With Money Came Alot Of Material Things ... Things We Need And Things We Didnt ...
As A Child Having All The Latest Toys Meant HAPPY TIMES ...
As A Teenager Having All The Latest Fads Was A MUST ...
As An Adult Owning Your Own Home And Having BIGGER Toys Is A JOY ...

But When You Have All That
Thru Out Your Life
Then What ???

Well As For Me
I Am Bored .. With Everything ... The House , The Car . The BIGGER Toys , The Money !!
When I Got The House And The Accessories
I Was Happy ..
But That Happiness Last Only A Few Months ..
Something Was Missing And I Knew No Material Things Will Make Me Happy ..

It Took Me Awhile To Figure Out What It Is That Will Make Me Feel Rich And In Happiness ...
And That Is LOVE And LAUGHTER And My Own SPIRTUAL GROWTH ...
Those Three Things May Not Mean Much To Someone Else
But It Means ALOT To Me .... And Those Are The MOST IMPORTANT And LIFE NEEDED Then
Any Money And Material Things In The World .. Sure Money Is GREAT ... Im Not Saying I Wanna Be Poor
And Im Not Saying Money Is EVIL ... I Love Money Dont Get Me Wrong
But I Can Deal Without It ..Instead Of A House
I Rather Have A Big Thick Huge Tent And Go Off Somewhere Say Scotland In The Highlands And Live There ..
And Live With The Animals And Live Off The Land ... No Technology No Electricity No Nothing .
Just Me And My Soul-Mate And Mother Earth And Of Course The Universe !!
