NOT WHAT I THOUGHT

I joined Pagan Space because I do not feel that I know all there is to know of my belief system. I looked forward to gaining knowledge that I did not have. To learn new ways to honor my deities. To learn of others beliefs. I do not think that the concept of this site is being visualized. We spend so much time in discussions insulting each other. I am guilty of it myself. Some discussions are just asinine. And the few that put forth occult information are usually ignored for the more entertaining ones. I am ashamed of myself, because I have fed this negative publicity (if you will) myself. I have decided to take a few weeks and see if I really want to be here. I thought of just canceling my account, but I want to give it an honest chance before I make any rash decisions so I'm going to refrain from joining any discussions or reading any discussions not pertaining to spiritual information for several weeks. I will still read discussions if they are informative to occult topics. I am trying to see if this is a place for me. I have so much to learn, but I don't want to have to cut through the garbage to do so. Peace to all of you.

The reason I chose to post and not blog is because I feel that if we keep going the way we are we might lose the real reason Pagan Space was created. I miss the way it used to be. I value growth, but there hasn't been much spiritual growth for me as of recently.My bitch is about the posts themselves. WHERE HAVE THE SPIRITUAL/OCCULT/PAGAN TOPICS DISAPPEARED TO? The discussions can be fun and lively as long as we STAY ON TOPIC. Just my bitch.

I took a deep breath and wondered if I should go lie down. As Siberia said, the whiners are those who yell the loudest, not those who are willing to open their hearts and souls to others in kindness and love. I may not know everyone here but that will not stop me from giving kindness and love where it is due, to all who will accept it.

We have had some hellacious fun, haven't we, maybe this coming Friday or Saturday we will do the same again. I'll be considering one of those horrible non magic, non serious posts to put up just so we can.

Please, when you see these things happening, or feel that something is wrong, Screen Capture, or Create a PDF file of the disucssion and submit a issue report... Where are the Issue reports??

I would love to be able to read every discussion, but there is no way I can.. One person can only do so much.. So please remember, PaganSpace Can Not fix things if we don't know about them..

Everyone is welcomed on PaganSpace...

Everyone is welcomed to post discussions or create discussions...

If someone is being abusive, or aggressive towards person due to their posting, Please REPORT IT......

Again, all of these issues can not be resolved if we don't know about them..

Your help in resolving these problems is greatly needed as well as appreciated..

Permalink Reply by Lea on November 25, 2008 at 12:01am: Aw Nyx, thanks, we know how hard all of you work to keep ps.net going for us, and everyday I think, I need to go deposit some money in my paypal so I can send it to ps.net. After all I assist the sponsorship of Witchvox, I can do so here... I'm gonna do that this week for sure. I know what it takes to keep something like this going. I see a lot of the discussion, I'm home all day and well, I spend way too much time online here than I should.

If you need any assistance in a loving way I will be glad to assist. I've done it on my own boards before. We all love positivity but with this many people in one place it will be difficult to not have some problems. I will continue to post my serious discussions in hope that someone will say, wow, never thought about that before! Until them I will do what I can to help.

There is a large majority of the population here who signed on thinking that we would learn something from each other. And I think probably in some degree, we all have. It may not be what we expected to learn, or it may be just what we were seeking. That determination is one we can only make for ourselves.

I think there are a lot of good people here; maybe some of us are passing in the night, as it were, and the ones we're looking for, who could teach us what we want to know, are just getting lost in the cracks...I don't know. I, too, came here looking for such people and have grown tired of all the extreme negativity going on - it's almost as if bashing people were an Olympic sport and there's people out for blood to get the gold. I - like others - do try to ignore those people who behave that way; I know which posts to stay away from, which members don't agree with my world viewpoint. It does get hard when constantly faced with the glaring discussion post titles and whatnot, but it is doable.

I was always taught that those who yell the loudest usually have the least to say. Perhaps that's true here, perhaps not. What bothers me the most, personally, are those who feel it is okay to put down others while crying out that they are only telling the truth or telling it like it is or being true to their reality - not realizing that their reality has nothing to do with everybody else's reality - but when another person disagrees with them, they complain that we are whining. It occurs to me that the only person I hear whining is the person complaining about whining.

Do some people post here in the discussion forum when they should be in a blog or somewhere else? Sure. But if you are new, or if nobody reads or responds to the blog, and you really need some feedback, then this is where to come. Are there posts here that are just not applicable at all in any place - yah, probably. But where is it written in the PaganSpace fine print that everything has to be applicable? Can we disagree with each other and still learn from each other? Yes, we can actually. But just like the rest of human nature, we are all not at the same place in our lives, wanting or needing the same things, and in a community this big, we have to learn to police ourselves. What can we take, discussion-wise? Who do we feel comfortable with, member-wise? It's a give-and-take kind of place.

The great thing is, there are so many other sites out there that if this one doesn't fit, we can move on and find one that does. Chances are, some of us are on those sites too - we'll meet you there! Or invite those on here you liked, and we'll still meet you there, lol.

It's just like any other aspect in life - there are always going to be people everywhere that you don't like, that don't like you, that drive you nuts, etc. It's like Charles Barkley said once - half the people are gonna like you, half the people are gonna hate you, and there's nothing you can do about it.

But you can choose what your reaction to that is going to be. If you feel it's in your best interest, Thyme, to leave, then blessed be and I hope the rest of your journey takes you where you need to be. But if you decide to give PS one more chance, then another choice would be to consider your actions more cautiously - finding friends you are comfortable with, participating in groups that allow you to discuss what you want to know, and things of that nature.

I've had my days where I feel like this place is not for me. But you know what brings me back? The good people. I have met some fantastic people here that I wouldn't trade for anything. (My friends, you know who you are!) Do what I do, come on for a while, then leave it alone for a few days - give yourself a break from it. Only sign on when you feel compelled to - it's all your choice.

Blessings to you in whatever decision you make, and blessings to all who are here to learn something and stay here despite perhaps not doing that very thing...lol
