Does anyone know of any good, trustworthy, online book stores/dealers? Especially ones with good discounts and an option for used books? I used amazon for a long time, but when I took my card info off of the site, I ended up getting my debit card info stolen. It was a big, lovely ordeal. Needless to say, I'm a bit hesitant to use them again.

Any suggestions?

My problem is that without a vehicle, and not being on a bus line, I can't make it to a bookstore easily. The bookstore I usually go with is Borders. I'll check out their website to see if you can order cheaper, used books.

I just picked up a copy of janet and stewart farrar's eight sabbats for witches, hardcover and no longer in print, for under 15 bucks shipped. That was through B+K online.

You can order stuff from Borders, and have them hold it for pickup at the brick and mortar location. That way you can find a ride.

My weakness (among others) is books. Amazon, Half.com, Alibris.com, eBay, Powells and B&N.com are where I get my books. I've had very few problems with them. There are fewer used books stores now than in the past. There is an excellent "witch store" in this city but I only get there once a year or so. My mail carrier gets the bottles of frozen water left in my mailbox. It is hot (today is supposed to be 102 degrees) and carrying mail is the hardest job the post office has.

Comparison shop and don't forget to factor in shipping and applicable tax.

There used to be a guy on ebay who dealt specifically with occult books - including some fairly rare and collectable titles. Some are new but many aren't and I believe he goes off around the US buying them all second hand as he's often away for long periods and then he'll reappear with a re-stock. I'm not talking about big fat ancient grimoires etc, just normal books from $10 - $150. He'll do a good discount on p&p and they're all as described. I've bought a lot of interesting books from him (not that I've managed to read most of them yet) and usually for a very fair price.

I think is id was pauldickensonhalf - I have no idea how I remember that but if it happens to be wrong just let me know and I'll check my paypal records for you.
