Paranormal States VS TAPS (Ghost Hunters)

I was curious to see what everyone here thinks of these two shows. I am guilty of watching both on a regular basis. However out of the two I love the guys and gals from TAPS.
Paranormal States is a like too religious for me. Praying to Jesus all the time plus I sometimes wonder if the cases are not fake. The last episode was of a girl possessed by a demon by the name of Six. To me it just looked fake. I may be wrong. But i got the impression that the subject was out for attention. I have never really seen these guys try to debunk. They use psychics and other specialists also but always the same ones.
With TAPS they will debunk everything they can Last night I watch an episode of GH and they were in St Augustine Fl. They investigated the Lighthouse there. Since I have been to this town I can attest to how haunted this city is. But the evidence they got was amazing. Plus they also debunked some of the events that had been happening to non-paranormal accounts. I have been to this lighthouse (8th tallest in the US) and felt spirits there and it is nice to see them getting proof. What i like about this show is that they will only seek hard evidence. They don't let psychics or other specialists cloud there judgement

Well this is my opinion. I would love to hear other opinions.

I admit i occassionally watch Taps but still not a big fan of paranormal investigation shows on tv because of the fact it is on tv and can easily be faked and stuff for ratings like Most Haunted was busted of doing. Also those shows glamorize investigations and many wannabe kids think they can trample through grave yards and such with a pendulum and call themselfs parapsychologists. I do like how Taps trys to disprove and uses alot of logical thinking instead of deeming every place haunted though. I just wish they would do more like spirit rescue type stuff to help those trapped to move on instead of just expecting them to perform parlor tricks on command.; ▶ Reply to This

oh what about that house that supposedly is growing on its own, the owner was a woman and she got paranoid or something and made false doors and stairs that led to no-where.

Taps they debunk stuff but sometimes i wonder about what they actually get. seem like alot of times they get nothing much or you think they could have gotten something if you didn't see their faces instead.

But I personally love both. What one is lacking the other one makes up for it and vice versa.; ▶ Reply to This

I agree that they get too religious (always Christian religious and not like Jewish: hmmm...lol) and they think that every haunting is evil and every house needs to be cleansed (which I think is rediculous). I do love Ghost Hunters, though. They don't use psychics or religion and they try to debunk and find rational explanations for "happenings". The only thing I'd change about that show is taking out the darn music so you can try to hear better what's going on.; ▶ Reply to This
