I had a ritual planned for two years now (last year something had come up with a friend of mine.) But this year I am doing this ritual. It is a cleansing, renewal ritual; where I put the negative past behind me, and look forward to my bright, positive future.
Well, we had plans of being around a bonfire and telling tales into the wee hours of the morning over a few beverages, but that ain't gonna happen. It's been raining like mad here for several days and everythings swamped. So, we're moving the party indoors, to a jaccuzi suite. It's a night out without the kid, and we're also celebrating my wife's birthday. She's a solstice baby! We're actually going to do it on Saturday, but i've no doubt the celebration will go on into Sunday.
I have a ritual planned which I am going to do at the exact time of the solstice (early Sunday morning) and then its lounging poolside and tanning my little heart away. :D
We're hosting an open Solstice celebration like we always do. Solstice here isn't until 1:46am on Sunday So we're starting with a Greet the Sun ritual at 6:27am (sunrise). (Some friends are spending the night to be here for that one - LOL) We are doing different things throughout the day - thanks to many wonderful suggestions by Moon. There will be another ritual starting around 12:30pm which will lead into a meditation that will bring us to the exact midpoint between sunrise ans sunset - when the power will switch and the sun will begin waning once more. Plus lots of good food, a fire and plenty of good folks.
