products causing children to hit puberty way to early?

OK i ha ve done some research and found out that the chemicals in our every day food that we eat and things we use to help with meals is causing the children to hit puberty as early as 9 years of age. now thats messed up some of these products are beef, milk(biggest problem),french fries, soda, flavored water, store veggies, and much more. the chemicals that are causing this to happen are hormone's thats are either injected or feed to the animals/plants to get a higher yield of the product. now once the hormone is in the system its also in its product. dairy farmers use to much of the homones because they have to meet the high demand for milk. also they use chemicals to preserve your veggies while on their trip from the farm in what ever state they were grown in. now these hormones are a big issue because it causes a hormone imbalance and could eventualy cause cancer

I'm sorry but I have to cry bull pattys on this. For one my grandmother hit puberty at 9 she was very petite as she stoped growing at 9 as well. I think you are just trying to scare everyone into being vegan and I feel that is morally and emotionally bankrupt on your part. There are lots of things that aren't healthy but we all die anyways. Also I don't think puberty was discussed 30 years ago like it is often discussed today. I wonder where they got their data and frankly I assume they made it up. It was like green peace and peta getting all pissed of about irradiated food which not study anywhere has shown to be un healthy and most studys show that it is healthier than regular fruits and veggies.

I've been vegetarian forever and I still got my period when I was 7 - my friends all got theirs at 12 and 13, and my mom at 16. Nothing wrong with it. People have different genes.

true but when the age is getting younger and younger each year there is a problem

The very fact that some folks hit puberty when they're 7 or 8 and others when they're 17 or 18 is not problematic. It'd be a bit more scientifically sound if the main thrust of your argument was that environmental toxins were causing cancer, rather than passing a value judgment on phases in a person's life which are generally congenital. It's like those folks who think that kids today are growing 'too tall' - by whose standards is anyone 'too' anything?

i am not trying to scare any one just warn them of the steroids and growth hormones they uses NOT ONLY in animals but as well as plants. also every one has diffrent genes but when those people who have diffrent genes are hitting puberty at a younger age each year then there is a problem

I've been reading up on what goes into food recently. I haven't come across any studies that support this though. While, theoretically, it seems more than plausible I'd like to know your sources on the matter.

I picked up "Eat This Not That" by David Zinczenko w/ Matt Goulding a few days back and what a read it's been. It brings up (not in great detail which I find disappointing) studies that have shown the stuff that goes into foods can/are responsible for certain things going on with kids. An example that sticks out for me: The some artificial food colorings in beverages have been linked to hyperactivity in children over in England. Scientists still haven't figured out what colors though.

I think everything boils down to knowing what's in what you're eating. You should be in charge of what you/your family eat(s) unless you're willing to accept the risks. When I leave the house today and eat my burger from Wendy's I accept that I have no idea of the conditions the cow I'm eating was raised in. While I hope for the best, I'm sure the cow probably came from a farm that fed it a corn based diet (which isn't a cow's natural diet, btw) so it's probably packed full of anti-biotics and hormones. =) It's just soo darn tasty and convenient. LOL!

i have my sources from the Holton medical fac. also they have the news involved now to get people to listen. also every product that we coosume has some sort or hormone additives. also many of todays farmers use growth hormones on their plants and livestock. in some cases they will use steroids on their livestock to produce more muscle mass thus increasing the value of that cow and = more meat

There are many things that even vegetarians need to watch out for in the hormone consumption department. Yet it is so easy to just place the blame on meat and dairy products.

The over consumption of soy products - in everything from food to beauty products is not healthy. The body gets over saturated with hormones. Which can lead to early menses and breast cancer just to mention a couple.

Imbalanced and consistant improper {super-sized over-indulgence} diets along with being sedentary leads to most problems. Just another issue that requires the use of a lost art; the application of Common Sense.
