I find this a very interesting topic because I truely, really NEVER understood this line of reasoing. Some believe that EVERY time one casts a cursing spell, they will receive harm? WHY? Cursing, hexxing, revenge, binding spells are all part of the magical realm. I can respect those that follow the HARM NONE thought and wont do a curse, choices, however,EVERY spell puts forth some type of negative energy to someone.Other than the 3X3X3 thought,WHY does putting forth a curse harm the one doing it do you feel. I dont feel it does any more than any other spell.

As long as you have a valid reason for the curse and can accept the consequences of your actions then for you its not wrong.

I personally believe that what we give out we receive back 3 fold so if I am going to curse someone It had better be for a better reason than they pissed me off. The only reason I would curse someone is if they physically harmed someone in my inner circle.
Why do you feel there MUST be consquences for the action? And in a bad way,may i ask? The consquences for the curse,is to RESOLVE the problem.....as I see it.
There are always consequences for every action because for every action there is a reaction and the outcome depends on the reason for the curse. I am not saying you shouldn't curse someone, thats up to you, its just not something I would do lightly but that is just me.
I dont believe a cursing spell IS a spell any practical and wise WITCH or magick person does lightly. So the consquence need NOT be bad on the spellcaster? That is my question......or do you feel it is? I dont.
Just because there is a consequence, doesn't make it a bad one.

agree

hopefully there is a consequence of putting out a hex or curse properly done......to the intended receiver of it

For instance you do a binding on someone and your reasoning is pure and not to harm said person, for instance it protects them from harming themselves or another, it comes back... but as a positive effect.

It all has to do with the intention... if well is meant, well is received.... if bane intentions are meant, bane reactions are received... (to the deliverer and deliveree)

Aye,bindings can definetley be helpful

VERY well put! :]

Eh, maybe if they asked to be bound. In which case they should just do it themselves. Also bindings are different from curses. While intent of the caster is one thing, the desires and wants of the receiver have much to do with it also. using magick to achieve anything that could be done with mundane means will also incur a debt. Then again all actions take some debt, its just a matter of it being positive or negative. Balance is key in all things.

There are always consequences for every action because for every action there is a reaction and the outcome depends on the reason for the curse. I am not saying you shouldn't curse someone, thats up to you, its just not something I would do lightly but that is just me.

Does this mean that if I curse or hex someone, I could gain good fortune as well? I believe in a *kind* of cause and effect principle, but I certainly don't believe in "what what sow, we shall reap" axiom.
