Putting Forth A Curse WILL Cause You Harm?? Does It?

I find this a very interesting topic because I truely,really NEVER understood this line of reasoing. Some believe that EVERY time one casts a cursing spell,they will receive harm? WHY? Cursing,hexxing,revenge,binding spells are all part of the magical realm. I can respect those that follow the HARM NONE thought and wont do a curse,choices,however,EVERY spell puts forth some type of negative energy to someone.Other than the 3X3X3 thought,WHY does putting forth a curse harm the one doing it do you feel. I dont feel it does any more than any other spell.

Look I hope you don't take this wrong, im not trying to sound like a jerk but... Its pretty simple when it says and ye harm non , what you put out will come back to you 3 fold. what this is saying is good or bad what you put out in the world will effect you 3 times more... weather  that be 3 times the spell or 3 times harder is up for some debate but still its not a Law that can really be mistranslated in its most basic laymans terms it is what it is. 

it sounds to me that like you are wanting to preform a hex  on someone and you want some justification for doing so before you go ahead with it.. my advice .... don't do it... deal with your hurt and anger toward the person emotionally before you do something that is going to do even worse damage to yourself.

I hope my words do not seem harsh.

OWEN.YOU are aware,that not ALL paths of Witchery or Pagamism follow the "harm none rule" right? There are thousands of different types of witches. My path of Scottish Witchery is not bound or follows the wiccan rede. I am not Wiccan. I'm not a NEW Witch that needs any justification for any spells I do or have done in the great circle of magick......Agian,a spellcaster that understands,knows how ,and is wise in spellworking does not damage themselves when properly doing spells involving curses and hexxings.....this is New age teaching,which is fine,if that is one's choice,It simplty is not mine.

LOL, you do realize "an ye harm none"  is just a line from a poem Doreen Valiente wrote, right?

Also, don't try to push your morality on paths that may not subscribe to it.  here, from my path:

"To bless or curse with power friends or enemies [to do good or evil]." is a Gift from Diana to her witches.  to bless OR CURSE.

Also Diana says to her daughter, Aradia:

And thou shalt be the first of witches known;
And thou shalt be the first of all i' the world;
And thou shalt teach the art of poisoning,
Of poisoning those who are great lords of all;
Yea, thou shalt make them die in their palaces;
And thou shalt bind the oppressor's soul (with power);
And when ye find a peasant who is rich,
Then ye shall teach the witch, your pupil, how
To ruin all his crops with tempests dire,
With lightning and with thunder (terrible),
And the hall and wind....

Nothing here about payback.  nothing at all.

Yes you DO sound like a jerk.  Your Law of Three isn't mine.  It has no place in my path.  I see no evidence of it in my life.  So you can keep your law to yourself, thank you very much.

I'm not a Wiccan, Owen, so I'm going to curse away but only when someone deserves it. Just because you follow the law doesn't mean we do.

If you curse someone for a good reason then nothing will happen to you, no Karam will hit you on the butt and make you wish that you were never born. I have cursed someone and it didn't come back to me. Sorry but sometimes we take this whole three fold law too seriously. If someone is making your life hell and you've done everything that you can think of, then curse his butt. People around here might think that I'm being mean but I don't give a rats butt what people think. Curse, if needed.

Ancient witches cursed people, end of story.

I follow a path of Ancient witches........and indeed,we/they used the whole circle of spellworkiong as their/our tools......

aye,I agree......I have done a curse or two for another. I am working on one right now on a cheating huisband......verey sad,because he is 12 years younger than his 80 year olde wife.I mean really WTF??

I'm kind of hoping the 3 Fold rule works. I was threatened recently but I don't know if they went through with it. I put up wards and shields galore but I'm still paranoid that he cursed or sent negativity to me. I have been sick, but that could just be a stomach bug going around. It would be nice if the 3X rule was an actual rule, but if its not...Well, I've found other things more disappointing. I don't plan on cursing or attacking him in return. I just want him gone from my life.
