Sitting Around Your Fire..........

Hopefully many DO have the opportunity to be able to sit outside around an Autumn fire and visit with friends. W are fortunate in Virginny to have quite a few get togethers with friends and other Pagans,where we do just that,sit around a fire and chat...or with our neighbors....Some times we just go out ourselves....anyone else fire scry? read the fire? We also enjoy the larger get togethers with drum circles.....all magical times....What do you get out of sitting,dancing,being around a fire?

Yes that's where he is. I think there are a few others too. But they don't come up as clearly as him.

C'lass if it wasn't for our fire we'd freeze to death come the cold times. It's how we heat the house. It's truly integral to our home. Further than that though it does have a hypnotic effect on me. i could sit and watch the fire till I fall asleep every night. i love the smell of the wood as it burns, and the different color flames that dance about the hearth. I have had visions, or if not visions then certainly profound thoughts as i while away a frigid eve waiting till the long dark gives over to the struggling dawns of winter.

ASW,your welcome!! My home in North Dakota,before I lived in Virginny,was wood stove dependent almost entirely too,so I know...some woods burn "sweeter" than others too.We are fortunate that the owls come around too,in the yard....aye,I call them visions.....
