Merry Meet, may the Goddess's blessings shine on you and yours. As we reach the end of the waning moon I was wondering if anyone would have a spell for the ending of procrastination and perpetual lateness. It seems as though no matter how hard I try I can't seem to get myself up and going in a timely manner regardless of what the impending task may be. (Even things that I want to do.) I've tried everything I can think of, setting my clocks ahead, going to bed earlier, getting everything ready for the following day the night before, nothing seems to help. Whether it's getting out first thing in the morning, a project to tackle here at home, or going out to do something I'm really looking forward to, I just can't get motivated enough to get going. Any and all suggestions (magical or otherwise) are greatly appreciated. Blessed Be~Amethyst

So...you want to know if someone else has made a spell to end procrastination?

The idea of using a spell for something you could simply do. Isn't that like using a ritual for the hope telekinesis would bring you the remote?

I would suggest, that perhaps, you simply don't want to do these things, so you are unmotivated and undisciplined. btw....I am also a procrastinator.

Is there a ritual for that :P JK, my thoughts were that we can all use a little help now and then. Oddly enough, just putting it out there that I have a problem and want to change it seemed to do the trick, haven't been late for anything since I made to original post, and goddess knows I have nothing but opportunity as I've been on the go constantly as well.

I think in a way you may be right about me not wanting to do the tasks at hand, it's no secret that I'd be pleased as punch to never have to go to work again, but it was the other things that I am always late for that caused my concern. However, on a subconscious level I may not have truly been wanting to do those things either. (The one that first pops to mind is date night with the gentleman I've been seeing for about six weeks now.) BB~Amethyst (the recovering procrastinator)

It sounds like you're doing what a lot of people do - trying to trick yourself into being on time, instead of being self-disciplined and just making it happen.

I used to be late for everything, and if I don't keep an eye on my goals I tend to be a procrastinator. If you really want to stop being late, then stop. You know how long it takes you to get somewhere, do the math. If it takes (on average) 30 minutes to get to work, then leave 40 minutes before you're supposed to be there.

Keep a journal each day, tracking what you were on time for, what you weren't, and why you were late. Then change your behavior so you aren't late the next day.

It's not hard. Just Do It.

Alan, thank you for the advice. The journal idea is actually something I came across in a book I bought about overcoming procrastination. (LOL, do I really need to say aloud that I have yet to finish reading it.)~Amethyst

The spell only has to change your perception of yourself as being a procrastinator and someone who is always late. Put together some basics of what this represents to you. Gather your watch, your datebook and a mirror. Not knowing how you practice... I will leave the actual crafting of the spell details to you....but the end result is the person that has these qualities will no longer exist, and you....YOU will remain, someone who IS prompt and gets things done on time!

Reward your new you with a new watch or datebook infused with your magic to remind you and reinforce your work.
Repeat if needed....don't put it off ;)

What a fabulous idea! The irony of the fact that I don't own a watch just hit me. Thank you for the suggestion, I will definitely take your advice. BB~Amethyst

If youre feeling lazy or have a lack of motivation did you ever try just doing something as simple of an invocation of fire? Its probably one of the simplest things you could do and it works to make you more active

oh, and by the way, its "Goddess`" not "Goddess`s" lol sorry, I have to tease alittle about that :)

Fire, I hadn't thought of that, I think I'll save that for once I get moved in February. Actually, I was trying to come up with a special birthday ritual as I'm entering a new phase in my life (gone are the days of being considered a young adult) My new place has a fireplace and I moved my move up a month specifically so that I could spend my birthday in front of the fireplace. You got my mind working, thank you. BB~Amethyst

PS In truth, we are both right, with singular words ending in "S" either way is acceptable, though that was an accident, most of the time I tend to side with you. ;)

The earlier and longer darkness that seems to be sapping your strength. Our circadian rhythm gets thrown out of whack for a while sometime taking a few weeks to recover from the time change. You can reset that time clock by watching the sun rise. The light of the morning sun causes your body to adjust to the time difference and reset the internal clock. This is scientifically proven. You can use this time to honor the sun and considering the sun is associated with energy that's 2 birds with one proverbial stone. Do this for at least a week and it should solve your problem.

I know a spell to end procrastination, I'll get to it later. What do you enjoy doing, the other term for procrastination is resistance, my question is very directly, what's your payoff for holding on to your particular thought patterns?

I have become very disciplined to make sure that I am no longer late in getting to events and meetings. I always pack what I need the night before and place it by the door so it is ready, and map out what needs to be done in the morning at bedtime so I can work out any potential snags to my getting out the door.

If I'm already out the door and something unforseen has occurred; such as a slow school bus (or tractor as I do live in vermont), an accident on the road or unexpected bad road conditions, then I do a chant to bend time. So far I have only been able to gain 15 minutes, but it works in a pinch when all of my careful planning has failed! "Time is frozen the minute is cold, Time has stopped the hour's on hold." I visualize a frozen clock and then see myself arriving at my destination with the clock exactly where I want it to be.
