I'm good with the rest, well except the glutton thing, realy don't like food all that much. I know weird, but the truth. Whoa hold it, does the glutton thing go for really good wine? I can down a bottle of that stuff and ask for two more..bottles.lol.
Permalink Reply by Kixs on September 20, 2012 at 11:34am I googled sloth, and I could really get into it, but the greed thing keeps getting in the way.
Permalink Reply by Tara Flower on September 20, 2012 at 3:09pm Remember this idea from the Demon Banishment discussion, 'a sin demon associated with one of the seven deadly sins'. I do believe there are entities who identify as working with one of these 'sins' and also other sins that aren't on the list.
I think I've been guilty of all of them except envy; I make a big thing of not believing in that one. Wrath probably does the most damage, and some people let it happen because they see all their anger as righteous anger.
Permalink Reply by Nephele, Mistress of Names on September 20, 2012 at 8:08pm I love ALL the Seven Deadly Sins, for the reason that their Latin names (given by the medieval Catholic Church) also make lovely feminine names:
Superbia (Pride)
Avaritia (Greed)
Invidia (Envy)
Luxuria (Lust/Luxury/Riotous Living)
Acedia (Sloth)
Gula (Gluttony)
Ira (Wrath)
Luxuria is probably my favorite. The "sin" is cool, but I really picked that one on account of I like its name best.
Ira is my least favorite – because "Ira" is also a masculine name (meaning "watchful"), and so it kind of spoils the set. Unless we slightly change the original Latin word for that sin to the Latin word "Iracundia," which means pretty much the same thing ("anger; irascibility") and can serve as a feminine name to go with the rest of the set. Yep, that'll work. :)
