The demonizing or belitting of the male presence in Paganism and Wiccan

There are many authors and followers who do not believe in following male deities. Yes to each their own I do agree with but, there comes a point in which I must ask why? Why belittle and demonize a God because he is male? I am not pointing a finger at everyone here so do not worry about that. I am only asking a question that has had me stumped for a while yet. I follow both a male on a female deity and I find it to be a balance that is necessary for myself personally.

I want to know what exactly you have gathered from experience of seeing these types leads you to wonder where they get these ideas from?

Girl yes. You can't feel that dripping from some of the posts in this thread? I can't, I won't, and I refuse with some of this B.S. and I rebuke it in the name of Christ Da Lawd (Yes I did just invoke him for this, because some of these blokes need Jesus in their lives. But maybe not, cause the Apostles were all men and that might make them uncomfortable.)

Hmph.

LOL! I'm just being silly too, it's gotten to the point where I'm just talking out of my shapely man-hating, elitist, supremacist, high fallutin bum.
Oh I adore men,the knights, the men of honor,My David. They get what women are all about and treat us as the Goddesses we are!!
"....I'd prostrate myself, but my titties are in the way and I'm not in the mood..."
.....you made me snort my coffee!!! Holy hell that was funny; made my morning!
Blessed Be, Bohemiangelnoire!

I find that as a practicing teacher, the male deity is not welcomed in the originally feminist view of older wiccan models however in the mixture with the pagan modern or neo-pagan ideals have created a place for them, i in witchcraft serve the female designs (isis, hecate/lilith/venus/diana, inanna/ bast-e, and others) but when working in ceremonial mage arts in male to magus designs, we work with male deities but they aren't held to male alone, and neither is the female, i go by what calls to us either by pat or present.... that is to me is the reasoning we may seek to being with them,...... to me....

I haven't seen the demonization of men in paganism in years, so I'm not sure how much of an issue it still is. Radical feminists might still be doing it, but then I don't think they'll stop either.

The way I look at it, they can preach whatever nastiness they want to in private, but if I hear about it I'll speak up in defense of the penis-enabled everywhere.

I can't say I've seen the demonization of men ever. The radical feminist/dianic wiccans, especially those who idenitified as lesbians seemed to go out of their way to avoid men. They focused their energies and attentions on other radical feminist/dianic wiccans and their pet projects, certainly not going about demonizing men or making them feel bad about themselves.

These days, I can't think of a single female in my acquaintance who doesn't esctatically honor the male aspect of the divine as well as the feminine.

The last time I saw it, was at PantheaCon by that one lesbian counselor telling men not to traumatize women by going skyclad in front of them and forcing them to look at our penises.

Before that... hmm... I think you would have still been in high school. ;-)

Wow! Really? I find that shockingly narrow-minded. I don't think anyone could get away with saying that at PCon nowadays. Sheesh!

I've seen it. When men-based groups, perform public ritual there's a focus on the masculine side of things, and the feminine is down-played (not excluded). This doesn't sit well with people who adhere to goddess-centered beliefs. They vilify the group for paying homage to a moon-god, vs. goddess, it's painful to watch. Then, they vilify the gods.

It's sort of like watching kids argue over their favorite super-heros.

I am always saddened by pagans not allowing for male dieties. To me this would severly cripple my worship as I require balance in all that I do in worshiping. I understand that we males have a lot to do with this, as has already been noted. However I came to Wicca in hopes of finding balance, love, and forgiveness in my self and in my life. That is one of the reasons that I am no longer in a coven. Ladies, yes we did it to our selves, but please remember that paganism is about balance in all things. An all female religion, can end up as corrupt as an all male one. Blessed Be my brothers and sisters.
