The Goddess Hecate

I was watching Ghost Adventures today and they were doing an investigation at the Ancient Ram Inn. They were trying to make contact with a succubus. Well anyways they had a witch conjure one by summoning "The Dark Goddess" in her ritual. The witch had stated that she is fearful of her like many witches. Assuming "The Dark Goddess" is Hecate and talking with various witches in the past, how come there is a misconception that Hecate is a malevolent force? I have worked with her many times on many things and never had any problems in anyway. I understand that GA is a tv show that's mostly fake but what about the others out there that think the same thing. Am I missing something because the research I've done on her doesn't point to her being a total malevolent force. Only thing that I have noticed is that when invoking her or evoking her she may bring other entities with her good or bad. But that's what banishing is for anyways. I just don't understand why some people have this bad idea of her.

People fear death.  People fear different cultures.

She's been demonized. Because of this people fear her. That and making people scared of who they're "invoking/evoking" (whichever it is) on this tv show, makes the show all the more interesting for those watching. THIS is why I don't watch these shows, because they're full of bunk...regardless of if they're trying to be factual or not. I've watched many a ghost show (paranormal investigators, i think was one) where they constantly stated "in the name of Jesus I demand you show yourself" or other such nonsense. It's all about entertainment, regardless of if they get any information correct. They go off the ignorance of the audience, in the hopes none of them know what they're actually talking about, to make the show interesting (yet making themselves look like fools to those who actually DO know what they're talking about, and taking those things WAY out of context).

In all reality, these shows hold very little credibility with me.

Well Wolfie I used the tv show for an example and it inspired me to write this post because tv show aside, I have herd this from many other people. Also yes I do know that she has been demonized by many xtians. I was not referring to the xtians though. The thing I was trying to understand, is there a logical reason any witch should be scared of invoking or evoking her? I, myself have done both and I have not gotten any bad results. The thing is that I'm trying to understand about the "craft" as you would call it is in dealing with entities or deities. Is it hit or miss? Or do different things happen to different people because of their mental strength or something else? I understand that everything works different for everyone but do experiences depend on what kind of person you are?  Is the only reason for a person to have a bad experience with any energy or entity because possibly they are full of fear? Even if that is so, if the person is seeking them out for guidance why would they capitalize on such a thing?

Not that I have any connection with Hecate but seeing as she does have a very important role as the gatekeeper and among many names also gaining the title "Goddess of Witches"

Having said that. It all depends on how people are able to handle the more less fun parts of life, death being something many are brought up to fear.

Probably magus. Oddly I have some interesting connections to some other deities connected with death. But I have not died before..

I have read about some followers of Hecate in southern England during the 1980's who regarded her as an evil force. Maybe she has been given a bad reputation by these kind of people.

More recently I've heard of  witches using the name Hecate as a patron of magic in general, which can be used for either good or evil by the person practicing it.

Hekate was known to send evil spirits out on people, including Lamia. Maybe you did not have an experience that was bad because she doesn't see a reason for it in your own personal relationship. She also protects people from evil spirits, but I think this works if you're on her good side.

In my experience Hecate has a few different aspects: Underworld Goddess (Hekate Cthonia), Savioress (Hekate Soteira), Light-bearer (Hekate Phosphorus), psychopomp (Hekate Propolaia), etc. So She may not manifest the same every time.

Hecate for me has been a lot of things really. She saved me from being addicted to oxycontin. I invoked her asking her to save me from my affliction and since that day it's been almost two years drug free. It's amazing how real her presence is, whenever I evoke or invoke her every animal in my house and on my street go nuts. All the dogs start howling and all the animals in my house become overly active. The energy and power she has is amazing. It's strange to me that me and her have a connection that is different from any other entity or deity. The reason I say this is because I'm male and from what I've seen and understand is that mostly women worship her. She has been very good to me. She has helped me destroy my enemies and become a better person.  Anyways I in all actuality have done a lot of things that people would consider dangerous and suffered no problems from it. I use the goetia an awful lot and every experience has been enlightening and peaceful. Honestly I think it's because I fear nothing, I have conquered pain and death and that in my opinion is what the human condition fears most.

I would like to add also this life of mine has been a difficult journey but once I learned how to let go my much needed "death" I finally was reborn into something entirely different.

Hail Hekate!!!!

Hekate is my Matron Goddess she is the Queen of Witches. She has the ability to help for good cause, and help banish bad.

I have been a worshiper of Hekate for many years, Im also dedicated to her through my Blood.

She who holds the key to Ikashka Records, and helps Women & Children from Evil.

There are so many different aspects of her. She is Maiden, Mother and Crone. And is called by many names such as Hecate's Cabanaboy named. 

She is one who is feared because she is the one whom you find at the end of your life, waiting to bring you back to the womb  to be reguivenated, and then to be reborn by the Mother aspect.

There is so much information out there on Goddess Hekate, that one can seek to in tune there selves with the Great Goddess.

She is to be feared by some, and to be revered by others. It is all in how you see her, and the role she plays in our lives as the M,M,C.
