Mother-type sayings
1. RELIGION. “You had better pray that will come out of the carpet.”
2. TIME TRAVEL. “If you don't stand up straight, I'm going to knock you into the middle of next week!”
3. LOGIC. “Because I said so, that's why.”
4. MORE LOGIC. “If you fall out of that swing and break your neck, you're not going to the park with me.”
5. IRONY. “Keep crying, and I'll give you something to cry about.”
6. THE SCIENCE OF OSMOSIS. “Shut your mouth and eat your supper.”
7. CONTORTIONISM. “Will you look at that dirt on the back of your neck!”
8. STAMINA. “You'll sit there until all that cabbage is gone.”
9. WEATHER. “This room of yours looks as if a hurricane's hit it.”
10. HYPOCRISY. “If I've told you once, I've told you a million times. Don't exaggerate!”
11. THE CIRCLE OF LIFE. “I brought you into this world, and I can take you out.”
12. BEHAVIOUR MODIFICATION. “Stop acting like your father!”
13. ANTICIPATION. “Just wait until we get home.”
14. ESP. “Put your pullover on. Don't you think I know when you are cold?”
15. HUMOUR. “When that lawn mower cuts off your toes, don't come running to me.”
16. GENETICS. “You're just like your father.”
17. MY ROOTS. “Shut that door behind you. Do you think you were born in a barn?”
18. JUSTICE. “One day you'll have children, and I hope they turn out just like you.”

What is really scary is that having kids made me turn into my mother.
Of course, #18 is really a hex. We call it the "Mom's Curse". And I do have children who turned out like me, and I've cursed them too.

# 18 bit me in the ass my dad cursed me and I have a daughter just like me. I have not cursed my children. I am thinking about their poor spouse.

My mom cursed the four of her children with this. Her children (in age order) ended up: 1 - two kids, one on her way to teenagehood and thankfully away from her mother now and a toddler who is also away from the mom now lol..... 2 - did not have any kids (worried about the curse I guess).... 3 - Two kids, one with ADHD the other on his way to being diagnosed, and 4 - Me - my kids are actually not too bad. lol. One has had some health issues and the other is being evaluated for a Autism Spectrum Disorder... but they behave well most of the time at least... unlike me as a kid lol. I managed to break the curse!

Oh get this one.my David and his Brother Brian had leather pants.friom Austria a friend gave them,when they were gonna get smacked they'd put these on!!

I was shopping at Wal Mart with my daughter Carly and grandbabies and they were acting up.CARLY(my daughter) says to Benny(he was 6 at the time). if you dont be quiet I'm givin you to the next ugly person i see!!

I ended up writing a poem for my father because of this saying!!
I called it Dad LOL::
Mum tells me I'm like you dad
Mum tells me everything I do reminds her of you
Good or bad I am glad I'm like you
I'm glad I have a good heart like you
And that I have your strong fighting spirit
I wouldn't be me if I didn't have you apart of me
Then I signed it love daughter..

My Grandmother would tell me & my brother "Go Outside and Pick a Switch"!
