The Treasures we find. or treasures that seem to find us.

Over the years, some of the most amazing things that I've found, were things that seemed to kind of find me.

One of my favorite magical items is my wand, it's not ornate but while hiking in Yosemite in 2005 I had this overwhelming feeling that I should look over to my left, when I did I saw this piece of wood sticking out of the ground, at first I thought it was a tree root sticking out but when I got to it and gave it a tug, it wasn't connected to anything. It was petrified, and as I wiped it off I noticed all of these unique etchings that were embedded into it over the years (likely from water) but even more awesome was that it had tiny, gold flakes all over it. At that time, I knew I had found my wand or should I say, my wand found me :)

Another treasure I found was about a year ago, my boyfriend and I were looking through this antique shop and I was in an area where there was a lot of stuff. I accidentally dropped my cell phone and when I reached down to pick it up I saw this Witch laying on the ground, out of sight back behind a lot of stuff (as if it had fallen off the shelf). I actually gasped when I saw it, I grabbed it up and found my boyfriend to show it to him. It didn't have a price tag on it but the lady in the shop saw how thrilled I was with it and when I said how much, she said for you $20 and winked. I brought her home and she sits out in the open for all to see, I named her Addie (it was just her name...lol).

SO COOL! AGREE,they find us! My fav wand was in the Ohio valley,I found walking and I saw almost this same wee witch in italy. i'll look for a pic! DAVID bought me a pottery pitcher that he thought i'd like.well it was Robery Burns Tam O' Shanter the "ride of the witch".....I have Earth in a jar from culloden Battlefield...4 driftwood pieces we fiound on the beach,too..least of not all TANGEY,my orange toaster.....LOL....

Awesome stuff, I'd love to see a pic of it! I knew you would probably have all kinds of goodies :) Admittedly, Tangey, the orange toaster made me LMAO... :)

I found some great stones and rocks too in my wanderings....some Hawk feathers in inverness Scotland are on my altar

There have been many times for me where I suddenly want/need something; and almost every time I get this feeling 'I should go into that thrift shop...' and loe and behold said item is there lol

One was my hand blender... a few times it was shoes...and I am picky enough about shoes lol let alone finding my size lol

Another way treasures find me, is throught friends. They find something and say "I thought of you when I got this... here" and it'll be something a few months back or so I said (not to them) that I wanted.

I have my drama masks, and my light up black panther wall picture from a friend clearing out her ex's stuff lol (a few thing were 'here, do you like this....? Take it or I'm throwing it out' lol)

About twenty years ago I was living in the backwoods just north of here. The place was so magical. The mushrooms actually glowed at night, strange paths wound through the thick brush and brite green fairy circles showed up in the grass overnite. I was walking one of the paths and looked down to find a gnarly piece of oak root. It wasnt attached to the trunk, more like he was waiting there for me to pick him up. I knew it was a wand as soon as my hand touched it. I call him my Dragon Wand, the handle looks like the head of dragon ready to spit fire and the tip was naturally worn to a point.
