What courageous thing have you done lately? If not courageous what act of unselfishness or kindness? Do you make an effort to do for someone else? I donated to the Salvation Army pot.I did a money spell for a friend. There are REAL heros out there....Any great tales or acts of Courage?
Our word Tuesday isn't named after Mars. It's named after the Germanic god Tiw. Also known as Tyr.
He is known as a god of great Courage because he was the only one willing to put his hand in the Fenris wolf's mouth while the other gods bound him. His hand was bitten off but the exchange was seemed as fair to the god. The wolf was bound until the day of Ragnarok.
I think another aspect of Tyr's story is the self-sacrifice for the good of the community. Tyr knows what must happen, after all, he raised Fenris when no one else would approach it, and yet, he does what is necessary because he *also* knows that the wolf must be bound, in order to stave off Ragnarok for as long as possible.
just before i got my new job, i made a pact on a full moon ritual back in september that i was going to make myself available to help someone if the need arises.
now, i am taking care of a parapalegic, who is very independent.. but everyonce in a while since ive started .. i check on him after hours and make sure he doesnt need something.

I just started a group for Pagan Social work, and am scheduled to donate blood at 330.:) It's nothing spectacular, but I think donating blood is a way of showing that you are truly willing to give to another person. I believe our bodies are the only thing in this world that we can truly call our own, and to give of them is true sacrifice. I have the utmost respect for organ and blood donors. May the brightest blessings come your way.:)
