Ok - this question has been prompted by another discussion I have read through........
Just what are the "Olde Ways"?? I'm assuming there are different "Old Ways" for different people as NOT everybody believes the same way. I only seek information to help me on my own path here.
Okay.......If this could not be answered in the thread that is already going on about the same subject, what in the world makes you think it will be answered in this one. All that you have done is ask the same question in a different way!
In a lot of ways I think it depends on how it's being used to describe something. Yes, there are "Old Ways". For some the Old Ways mean following a tradition that has been part of their families for centuries, for others it means following certain practices and traditions that haven't been turned into eclectic mixes like many modern or new traditions. For others, using the term "Old Ways" or "Olde Ways" is a way to attempt to impress others and make it seem like their tradition or their practices are more valid because it's older, or proposed to be older. To some the Neo-Pagan traditions just don't seem valid and therefore they differentiate between those and other traditions by calling the older paths the "Old Ways".

Didn't we have some new rules about being nasty? Just asking... my ways were given to me by my father, the ways of our ancestors. I don't stick solely to that but I don't over do the tools and rituals the way some of the coven people I've known, no offense now but they really seem to think they need all the trappings or what they do won't work, that is not how it really is in my book. My old ways are these:
the greatest tools: self and passion
the greatest ritual: life
the greatest way: all of them because what you do is who you are
