As some of you know, I lost my mother in September. She was a paranoid schizophrenic. I was completely unware her health was that bad, so I was stunned to find out she had committed sucide. It has been hard and I still struggle with it everyday. One of her old friends called me the other day. She had just gotten word that my mother had passed. That brought all the emotion back and I was in tears. This has really been on my mind though since her death: What happens to a soul lost to sucide??

That depends on what you think! Where do you think souls go after death, those that have died a natural death?

I believe a soul crosses over to the Summerland, where they grow stronger and that it's their decision to reincarnate, but does this apply to a soul lost in this way? Are they lost between here and the Summerland or what?

This was supposed to be a reply to Tamarah but it won't allow me to respond there.
I believe that too - you decide for yourself. You are your own judge both during "life" and for ever after (whatever you choose that to be).

In my tradition, I believe that souls lost to suicide are immediately reincarnated. For whatever reason, they were unable to follow their path in this life, and they are returned and given another chance.

We don't believe they go to Summerland, nor do they rest, for that is what souls get when they have learned from this life.

The "soul lost to suicide" is a Christian concept. In Christianity suicide is regarded as a sin. Most pagan paths do not have the same attitude towards suicide, moreso, in some ancient cultures it was considered a very honorable death.

Ever heard of the Japanese Sepukku?

I am going to be polite and not tear your comment to shreds. You are comparing two different suicide solutions; you are comparing a suicide through mental instability and a suicide through a believed honorable system. Two different cultures here.

Me dear, you wouldn't be able to "tear my comment to shreds" even using a titanium rake. Your post only shows you didn't read all of it, just the end. Make an effort, I know you might be able to get the first part too. There's a difference between "either/or" and "and".

Oh im sorry I don’t remember anywhere in Japanese culture where people carved symbols into there chest when they had mental illness. You are comparing two different things, with two different motives. Whether whatever umpty scrunch pagan culture feels about suicide probably has no bearing on mental illness. For instance death before dishonor, self sacrifice, and so on.

Ok, let me try and help you here.

Try and read this again:

"The "soul lost to suicide" is a Christian concept. In Christianity suicide is regarded as a sin. Most pagan paths do not have the same attitude towards suicide, moreso, in some ancient cultures it was considered a very honorable death."

You think you MIGHT be able to understand now, and also to make the difference between "SOME" and "ALL"?

Whatever "umpty scrunch pacgan culture feels about suicide" DOES have a meaning in regards to the "soul being lost".

By the way, did you learn how to cook?

yeah, yeah, That’s cute tree huger, your explanation is base and loose, why don’t you explains the different forms of suicide through your “pagan” cultures. When you find out about suicide through means of mental illness post it. How to cook? Are you still on that? You where not there, so you cannot question what was done or the way it burned.

Man, you just love to stick your foot in your mouth, don't you? "cute tree hugger"?!? Your IQ is even lower than I thought.

Another one who's a waste of time to try to even discuss with.
