There was a question the other day asking me when I became Pagan that made me think for a while, because I realised I couldn't really find the answer. I couldn't really remember when i became as they say: a villiager or a "villian" as the Romans called it. I was raised on strict christianity, but there was a part of my family that decisively defined themselves as christian mystics, though this was very much secret. As one of my family members use to say: There are people that see things that others can't, that acceptable christianity chose to ignore, but God made us all and mistakes are not likely made by God. We use to get into these long philosophical chats that at least made us feel "normal" at the end of them.
Magic drew me at that typical rebellious stage of teenagehood yet I wouldn't say I did it out of rebelliousness but rather as a need to understand. Whether that was the beginning; I couldn't say I was sure.

When we were in Ireland, there seemed to be much intergrating, especially with Catholism and Celtic paths,at least a bit...There were older Gaelic prayers/sayings in a few of the Cathedrals we toured,Mother Goddess ,Bridgid and Virgin Mary statues.

We were mostly in London proper when we were in England, which I did not care for, though there are many lovely places in England, aye,Ireland ,where we were around Ring of kerry was a throw back in time.loved it....Kilarney too,a fascinating place. We are trying to go to Scotland next May,but ticketrs are alot, watching them to come down. The rail system is good all through the UK,so if we can fly into London or Glasgow,we can get around

Permalink Reply by Samantha Katherine Marie Gosset on August 23, 2012 at 12:22pm I have no clue on the date I chose to follow and call myself a pagan but I remember why, I chose to call myself a pagan as it was the closest belief system that matched what I believed in already and seemed to have like minded people following and believing in it.
during the time I was in prison I came across a couple men who had asked me why did I celebrate Christmas & Easter .I of course told them according to what the church taught that this was the birth , death of baby jebus ...needless to say it was the first clue on a new path ..next came the term " cabala, Kaballah , ect. i asked my parents for a Jewish study Bible and got the one used in the synagouges . this became a great source as to the difference between the Hebraic worship , and how the early " church fathers " came up with the catholic religion / universal . well the farther I dug the more the lights came on and pretty soon dropped out of church and joined the Wicca class which is all inclusive . it was a simple 12 week course ( i was studying Kaballah ), but a guy named Rock told me to study the basics of the craft for a year or two then go after the ritual magick. after a year ,I ended up teaching the class for almost 2 1/2 years till I maxed out. I don`t do spell work , but love the rituals of the path . I still havn`t landed where I feel I need to be just yet, but more freedom then ever .
