Why is everyone always downing the Ouija?
It's not like I use it religiously or anything....but has anyone ever had a good experience? Is everyone judging it based on the fact that it is currently being made by a toy company? Every post I read was...."I had a bad experience once when I was 12" or some B.S. about it bursting into flames. Does anyone have anything positive to say about the thing?

I used it to mess with my sister's head when we were little...was great fun!! She was an easy target though...lol
Seriously, I never had anything bad happen or any bad experiences....sometimes common sense is unusally hard for some people..:) That came out snarky huh? Hehehehe...I must be getting back to normal..lol

Haha! I've always felt some degree of sorrow for people who grew up as only children. My childhood would have been miserable without someone to screw with. =]

Oh- we only children always find someone to screw with.... ;) No worries there. We even tend to be far better at it because we had to learn early on that we didn't have anyone (sibling) to take the blame for us.... LOL

i was an only child. it was hard in some ways but great in others. i spent many years of my life when i was so lonely and desperate to be liked and accepted by others but at this stage in my life i am happiest when i am alone.
on to the ouiji question... i have heard a lot of bad things about using it. i have never used it myself. but once when i was around 12 yrs of age a friend invited me over and she used it. what happened scared me so much that i've never gone near one since.

I don't. I have issues with it because I know it works, and it's made readily available as a toy. When you don't know what you're doing, as most that use it don't because most are teens, and then you just go " hey! anything out there come and talk to me!" , you've opened up a door that they either don't know how to close or just don't, then wonder why they now have a new roommate. I don't take spirit communication litely. I don't think it's wise to have a spirit free for all without having knowledge about what you could be getting yourself in to, or how to protect yourself.
Not saying you as in you personally, but in general. I think that's where alot of the bad experiences come from. People not knowing what they're doing.

The only good thing I can remember is when we used it to scare the crap out of people as teens.
As for the other stuff about it, I'll tell you what I know... the game company Parker Brothers is said to be in association with Satanic worship and such, hence, popularizing the Ouija board, and targeting younger people as fun.
Also, it's not safe because you have no control of what you can actually conjure with it, meaning, malevolent spirits or worse. Some say you're safe within a magic circle, and psychic shielding, but that isn't full-proof.
Two experiences I'll share with you...
One: Me and a friend, on Samhain, one white candle and one black candle burning, witching hour, we asked if there is a spirit presence in the room...yes. Can you show us a sign? The board shook under our fingers and shot out to the end of the board and flipped over and a picture across the room fell off the nail and smashed on the floor.
I don't think a "nice" spirit would do such a thing as a sign.
Two: In the basement of an old abandoned house, next to a boarded up well, much like the Amityville movie, me and a friend lit a circle of white candles and opened the Ouija board in the center, as we did, we felt a slight gust of wind sweep past us. I knew there was something here, but my friend the skeptic was ever doubtful. We asked the usual yes/no questions, then he asked a silly question, I forget what exactly, but it was disrespectful... the board didn't move, but he said he felt weird, like a pressure closed around him, next thing I knew, he was literally picked up by an unseen force and hurled against the wall... not hurt other than bruised, but shaking like heck and scared out of his mind.
As horrific as this sounds, these things did happen and I never used a Ouija Board since. I have no ego to feed and don't care if others think these things can happen or not.
I find those that never witnessed anything supernatural are the ones that are the most skeptical.
Take this as a warning... make fun of it... or just plain ignore it... it's your choice.

How can you assume Satan had anything to do with anything? Those are speculations from your own beliefs... There are plenty of evil spirits or demons that love to toy with ignorant humans.
I have NEVER worshiped Satan, and don't even know why such types are allowed on Pagan Space, I would think this site is to promote love and beauty, not the general negativity associated with "Evil Religions".
As for the Ouija Board experiences, they did happen, and it's perfectly fine if you don't believe, I may not either from your point of view, but I've seen many supernatural things in my life to disregard as anything else.
I think I just chose the wrong friends to use the Ouija with me... perhaps if they were more positive, then I'd have better results.
