It's not like I use it religiously or anything....but has anyone ever had a good experience? Is everyone judging it based on the fact that it is currently being made by a toy company? Every post I read was...."I had a bad experience once when I was 12" or some B.S. about it bursting into flames. Does anyone have anything positive to say about the thing?

Actually, the toy version, I believe you refer to Parker Brothers, isn't a toy at all, but they want society to believe it is.
A hand carved one will hold personal energy, so make sure the one who carved it is a positive person and didn't put any unwanted energy into it, or you will attract that energy.

I should've remembered the Law of Attraction in my earlier posts.

It couldn't hurt to cleanse the board before use, by whatever means you use on your path, sage, incense, salt, a banishing, etc.

Ahhh thank you for your posts. Very informative. Cleansing everything new before it's use is a good idea, I acquaint it to washing your food before you eat it.

I personally think that a toy one is way different then a hand carved one. Toy one's are mass produced and yet carved ones, someone is taking the time to carve them. Hopefully with positive energy lol...

But since I've never used one I can't say for sure, that's just my viewpoint. And yes you should never disrespect anything you are working with.

Here's something you may find interesting, Ouija, is actually the combination of two words, Oui in French and Ja in German, both mean Yes in English.

Oiuja boards are also known as Witch boards, and were traditionally used for scrying into the unknown, or to unlock messages from the unconscious mind, but one can't really know if the message was from the mind or planted by a spirit... unless that person is really sensitive to different energies between physical and spiritual realms.

Though I've had a few bad experiences, I was thinking about this, as mentioned before, I most likely had a person with me full of negative energy that had drawn "evil" or negative spirits to the board. I did own a board for a while without any problems, but when the bad sticks out then, I had to be cautious and warn others there can be a danger.

As with any magick one does, proper care and respect is a must to ensure a safe return.

Peace and blessings

I have never tried it. If I wanted to use one I would actually try to make a spirit board of my own and make sure I know what I am doing. Stories and what not come from somewhere...just like myths and everything else you "hear!" Even if they are dramatized most of the time there is a little truth in everything. I am not afraid to try one and don't see them as "evil" or anything. I just don't know much about them and wouldn't want to let anything out that I couldn't put back in!

Like most of the posts you probably read elsewhere my mother had a bad experience. Nothing horrible happened she just had some slightly trippy shit happen to her. Nothing like it bursting into flames or what not though.

It is a tool like anything else...but tools deserve respect because they can be dangerous....the board is just cardboard....it is nothing....there is nothing to put a spirit back into....learning to deal with energies and spirits is a definately plus if your going to try. At the very least don't involve a negetive person (I don't mean a pessimist or someone with a sarcastic sardonic wit) I mean a negetive person. depression...defensive...a jerk...etc.

I had an interesting experience with the Ouija board. I consider it a good experience because it was so interesting. I was living in an amazing apartment at Cornell U. in Ithaca, NY where there are beautiful gorges with waterfalls. My apartment was built overlooking one of these gorges. It was a strange place. The waterfall was very loud and kind of psychically disturbing. A group of friends and I decided to play with a Ouija board. I was so surprised how the triangular pointer moved effortlessly. It started to spell things out in response to our answers. It also kept falling of the board in one direction. I realized that it wanted us to move toward the door. One of the answers, I remember clearly. We asked the spirit where it was and it went to H7. And I said "Oh - it means heaven". I though that was so interesting how it used H7 instead of spelling out the word. Nothing good or bad happened through it. But it did amaze me. I'll never forget it and still wonder what it all means. I think that living over a powerful waterfall brought out something psychic in us.

I can relate to that, I also feel empowered while in nature away from the hustle bustle and all the crazy people with mixed energies. Some places, such as a large water can act as an amplifier for energy and such.
That was a nice story...

It has been many years since I used one, perhaps, if I get the chance, I can try again with nicer people in a nature setting. I'm sure I'll have a better experience.

I don't plan on using one. I don't know that much about banishing and how to deal with different spirits, so if I have one that decides it wants to stay and fuck around with me.. I would want to know how to deal with it properly.
