Does anyone know of any good books on the wild harvesting of foods (roots, nuts, herbs,etc...)? Its a subject I've always found very interesting, but I've never found a good book on the subject for my area (Wisconsin). FYI 'Weed 'em and reap' was a great read but not very thorough. If anyone's looking for a cute and quirky book to pass the time with, check it out! My ideal book would be heavily loaded with diagrams and photos so I'm not out in the woods harvesting a fresh bounty of highly toxic flora O_

If you check your local book store, ask the clerks, they'd be more likely to have books specific to your location.
do a web search on wildcrafting
Food for Free by Richard Mabey.
That's the one I used to have, but it's geared to the UK. Worth a mention, though.
